Meet Our Newest Designer Alicia!

If you ask me what is one of the most stressful parts about running my business, it would be finding talented, hard working staff with a can do attitude. Honestly, we have been searching for someone for more than 2 years and then along comes Alicia who not only is the best fit but goes above and beyond what we could have hoped for.  MMF: Alicia, we're so happy to have you join us at Monday Morning Flowers (MMF). Tell us how you became interested in the flower business! Alicia: My career started as a cashier at a local supermarket but the floral manager asked me to help out in that department one Mother's Day and the rest is history. That was 3 years ago.  MMF: What have you been doing to further your design skills? New for Summer!

Didn't it feel like summer would never arrive and now today it's over 90 degrees! If you don't like the weather, just wait a few minutes and it wills surely change. We are in NJ you know! All kidding aside, lead designer Alanna and her new protege Alicia have been hard at work creating new floral designs for summer. Our Sunflower Bright is not new but we've made a few updates for the season. A clear cube filled with blue gems this design features sunflowers, delphinium, spray roses, alstroemeria and solidago asters. Such a happy design and perfect for a work desk, kitchen table or even bedside. We're having a Heat Wave !! This design has such vibrant colors. Pink lilies, orange roses, red gerbera daisy, blue hydrangea, purple larkspur and hot pink spray roses. When you want to be daring and loud, this design will get the attention you are after. Cheer Up Flowers

Flowers are such a thoughtful way to brighten someones day. Take this adorable little floral design.... "my friend is feeling a bit down, can you create something to cheer her up"? Of course and so we made this sweet design. A cube vase filled with orange gerbera daisy, white stock, lavender daisy, hot pink roses, burgundy spray carnations, yellow sunflowers and silver dollar eucalyptus. Wedding Season 2018 - updated trends

Wedding Season 2018 is here and the trends are emerging. Blush tones, organic bouquets with lots of loose foliage are in demand. Flowers such as Garden Roses, Hydrangea, Sweet Pea and Eucalyptus are helping to create dream bouquets. Flower budgets appear to be on the rise as couples want their special designs to be created by a professionals and the trend to stay away from anything DIY (do it yourself) helps couples enjoying the week leading up to their wedding instead of processing flowers and stressing over flower design and set up. Spring Wedding Trends

Gone are the days of tightly compacted flower bouquets for the bride and her maids. Today's couples are looking for organic, messy bouquets and we are happy to comply.  Soft blushes such as light beige, pale pink and very soft peaches seem to be what most bride's are asking for. I admit that I might miss the vibrant colors of Spring Weddings past but blush and ivory tones are timeless, thus they never go out of style.  Cut succulents and garden variety flowers in bouquets look formal but unplanned. You can almost imagine a designer walking around a garden clippers in hand cutting gorgeous flowers and arranging them into these stunning bouquets .  When working with your florist it's important to give them a creative freedom to look for the most gorgeous flowers available in your colors and season.
