Calling All Prom Dresses

Image
Novo Nordisk Inc. is working in partnership with an organization called Cinderella's Closet and we are happy to assisting them. Cinderella's Closet is a not for profit organization that is dedicated to promoting self-esteem among young adults by providing less fortunate high school students in our community the opportunity to attend their prom in style. They seek to raise awareness of the socio-economic differences that exist in the local area, while advocating inclusiveness and diversity. The goal is to ensure that no high school student has to forfeit the lifelong memories associated with attending their prom due to financial hardship. In February, Novo Nordisk and Monday Morning Flowers will begin a collection of prom dresses, boys suits, ties, accessories, shoes, makeup, handbags, scarves, shawls & costume jewelry (see attached flyer). Once the collection period ends, they plan to host a "prom boutique" in their facility in Princeton on Saturd

Food Bank Donation Matching

Image
Let's face it, it's been a tough few years and local food banks have suffered. Inspired by a TV Food Network program that Kevin saw recently, he really wanted to do something to help out. In an effort to spread the cheer at this time of year, we've put into place a matching donation program to help support the local New Jersey Food Bank. When you place an order and donate $3.00 to the food bank, we'll match your donation. Our hopes are to raise a few hundred dollars and if all goes well, we'll continue into the New Year. Help us to help those having a tough time right now. Remember, there a folks who need our help who live in our communities and no one should be hungry in America.

Doing Good with Flowers!

Image
Flowers are fun. There's no two ways about it and what's more fun than teaching little girls about floral design. Not much, if you ask Shop Coordinator Sheryl Perry. This past Monday, Sheryl went out to Quarry Hill Elementary School in Yardley, PA to work with the local Brownie Troop. The girls had a ball. Each girl made three different arrangements and then finished off their session by drawing their favorite flower for us to post at the shop. Afterwards the girls would be donating them to a local nursing home to brighten their facility. It really feels good to get out into the community, especially during the holidays to help spread the "floral" cheer!! Thanks to all the girls who participated and especially to Sheryl who always does a fantastic job representing Monday Morning Flowers in the community!!
