Feeling Thankful

Image
Happy Thanksgiving! The holiday means different things to different people. Working in the flower business it's about helping other have a festive and happy day. Our designers have been hard at working creating some pretty floral designs in all shapes and sizes. This pretty centerpiece was priced at only $24.99!   This design is called Skillman Sophistication.   We sold so many ceramic pumpkins this holiday!  Another pretty centerpiece with sunflowers, roses, statice, pods and eucalyptus.   Cornucopias are popular ever year and this year was no exception.   Many of our designs were styled as low and long designs, perfect for long tables. Which one is your favorite?

Our Instagram Feed in October!

Image
We've been having so much fun posting on Instagram and sharing our world here at the flower shop. Alanna has been doing a wonderful job and it's fun to take a look back at some of our favorite and popular posts from October.  A few highlights from Jennifer and Darren's wedding at the Westin hotel. We loved all the purple! This months design class was a fun time had by all - making spooky martini floral centerpieces! This photo was part of the "Instagram Takeover" with Princeton Online . Feel free to link here to see more of our design classes that are coming up!  We love the autumn shades with lots of rich reds in the designs we created for Jennifer and Jim's wedding at the Nassau Inn.   October is a super busy month for balloon work like this balloon arch for the Leukemia and Lymphoma light the night walk in Morris Plains. This was a team of George and Alanna while Kevin built the same exact displays in Sewell and Long Branch. Now that

At our shop it becomes a fun filled (yes, we do have fun), mad dash of assisting customers with their floral buying decisions, flower processing, floral designing and then the last ~ delivery.   Here are a few fun things you might not know about the holiday:  Our staff blossoms from 20 to almost 30 during the week of Mother's Day It takes 14 drivers to get all the deliveries done We rent at least 6 additional vans/trucks for the holiday Over 800 deliveries will be made in a few short days Our average amount our customers spend on this holiday is $77 and the customer that has spent the most on his Mother this year has purchased a $350 floral design We will sell over 3,000 roses and 2,000 carnations during Mother's Day Next to roses, the next most popular flowe

Lisa's Gerbera Daisy Bouquet

Image
This weekends wedding for Lisa and Bill was especially fun to design. The bridal bouquet consisted of 3 different colored gerbera diaises - coral, light lavender and medium pink. Accents of baby's breath was added to break up the colors and along the outer leaves we added loops of ti leaves to add a cool edge.  The bridal party consisted of 6 brides maids wearing black gowns. 2 brides maids carried coral gerbers, 2 carried light lavender and 2 carried medium pink. The stems were wrapped in black satin ribbon to allow them to disappear into the dress and not take away from the gorgeous flowers!   I am especially fond of the coral colored gerbera ~ this variety is called Bismark and these flowers are grown in Canada. They are especially hardy, which is perfect for hand tied bouquets like these.  The babies breath is called Party Time and has big, fat florets and they looks especially nice paired with the gerberas. I think these are the perfect bouquets for an April
