Blue Roses

Image
Whether you love them or hate them there is no denying they make a strong statement. Take these Blue Dyed Vendela roses. They come directly through the Dutch Flower Market and are quite shockingly blue . Imagine them combined with other flowers.... And then there you have it. Our bride Cathryn wanted these Blue Roses combined with medium sized dark centered sunflowers and this was the outcome. You have to admit this bouquet is memorable!  Would you consider this combination for your own wedding bouquet? We'd love for you to tell us!

Don't Be Shy - Colorful Bridal Bouquets

Image
Had to share one of this weekends wedding bouquets and what a colorful bouquet it is! It's not December yet and this colorful, fall themed wedding bouquet proves it. I love when brides are not shy about having colorful bridal bouquets like this one. Made from mini callas, orchids, hydrangea, hypericum berries, mini gerbers, roses, safari sunset, pin cushion protea and even blue thistle, this bouquet is sure to  be a look as she walks down the aisle.  Do you like this bouquet? Would you carry something so colorful on your wedding day?

This Week in Weddings

Image
This weekend's weddings seem to sum of the weather. On one hand, it's October 6th and the nights have started to get cool and the leaves are starting to drop here near our shop in Princeton Forrestal Village. Summer is definitely over and so our wedding designs for bride Dawn reflect the traditional fall feel of the season. Her bouquet was made using rich red roses along with a variety called Circus, which is a yellow and red bi-color. Along with the roses we have mango mini calla lilies, seeded eucalyptus, burgundy berries, Tango pincushion protea and very cool uhule fiddle ferns. She loved it!!  Now talking about weather, although the calendar says fall, the temperatures say summer, hitting highs in the low 80's so our next bride Kristie's bouquet reflect the feel of the day. Her bouquet was made using yellow fever few buttons, yellow and pink ranunculus, white mini daisies, garden roses, buplurium and gardenias. Gardenia's are special to Kristie and keep

More Purple.....

Image
I don't know what it is about the color purple but it's been showing up everywhere I Turn. This week past bride Suzan sent these photos our way and I'm so glad she did. I love the brides maids gowns, don't you? The flowers were just a sweet addition.  What fun seeing how the couple arrived in style!  Suzan's bouquet was gorgeous with ivory roses, brown cymbidium orchids, purple mini callas and purple roses. Her gown was so elegant and had lots of detail. What a lovely color palate for a late fall wedding, don't you think? Adele and Chris's Lambertville, NJ Wedding

Image
It's always fun to share real weddings with our blog readers and this one is especially rewarding being we will be doing her sister Sarah's wedding next. Working on Adele and Chris's wedding flowers last year was both fun and exciting. We especially loved Adele's wedding bouquet of mini callas, protea, mokara and cymbidium orchids, berzillia berries, orange roses and fiddle ferns. Don't you just love the texture?  Adele and her sister Sarah have a bit of fun. Sarah's wedding is up next and very different than her sisters. But in this photo, the day belonged to Adele.  Adele and Chris seemed amazed by those cute fiddleheads in her bouquet. We're thinking the bouquet would not have been the same without them.  How sweet to have a carriage ride and to take pictures with this beautiful horse right in the heart of Lambertville, NJ.  Lambertville was the perfect back drop. The brown and orange color theme really popped against the fresh green field

Scottish Tartan Wedding

Image
Had to share these lovely photos from Kyo Morishima Photography of last months Scottish wedding. I have to say this was a favorite of mine, only because it was so different and fun to create. The grooms flower was a mixture of a pheasant feather a loop of willow, a touch of red hypericum and seeded euc berries and some blue thistle. A tiny piece of the grooms Scottish Tartan finished the look. The brides bouquet also had all those elements but large red tea roses made a very textured but elegant bouquet. Thank you Kyo for the amazing photos and to the Nassau Inn who hosted this amazing wedding. What Are These Cool Berries?

Image
If you read our blog often and see our wedding designs, you are sure to have seen these cool little berries that we us in our arrangements. What are they? Coffee beans? Holly berries? Nope, they are called Hypericum Berries and they are actually a cut flower used in many florists shops. In the case of these red ones, the look is quite seasonal and really adds a pop of color, just like they do in the bridal bouquet below. This is a sneak peek at bride Amanda's wedding bouquet for tomorrow. What about these green ones below? Added among cream and white flowers, they add a touch of green with a spring or summer feel. Add light colored red ones among deep red flowers for a bit of contrast and color. They come in so many different colors such as green, peach, orange, brown and red, they fit into just about any season. Add their deep green leaves into the mix and you can see why we design with them so often. To see more of our floral designs, visit our website at www.send

A November Wedding for Brides Andrea and Suzan

Image
What a difference a week makes. Last week it snowed and this week, although chilly, the sun was out. Today we created and delivered 2 weddings, one for Suzan and David and the other for Andrea and Kyle.  Above is the hand tied bouquet we created for Andrea. What lovely color, don't you think? What I loved about what she chose is that her bouquet not only contained a very cool mix of flowers which included Heart garden roses but also purple carnations, yellow mini calla lilies, Tango pincushion protea accented with chocolate cosmos and foliage's. From there we jumped to each of the 3 brides maids who carried a single type of flower but all different ones. This bouquet is all obviously all roses but what a rose it is. You've heard me talk about my love for Circus roses and this time is no exception. Don't they look like a fiery sunset all bundled into one small package? The second brides maid carried a bouquet of all yellow mini calla lilies accented with s
