Balloons are Therapeutic~ by Kevin

Image
Balloons can be therapeutic! So far this has been a very busy year for our Company installing Balloon Décor. If you follow us on Facebook , Instagram , Twitter or various other Social media sites I'm sure you've seen the many posts and pictures of our Balloon decorations.   Recently, I was on site creating a balloon arch and as always, many people stop by to ask questions about what we do, how we do it, how long we've been Balloon decorators etc. Every time I stop and talk to the curious onlookers I notice one thing in common - everyone is smiling as they look at the Balloons ! This made me think how cool our profession is and also how much fun and pleasure it brings our customers. Some of the comments and questions I've heard from people have been: That's so cool. I'd love to do that. I remember when I was a kid..... My Uncle, Father, Brother use to give me a balloon every.... I love Balloons That's my favorite color. Ho...

Before and After

Image
What I love most about Balloon Decorations  is how visual they are for a relatively low cost. Take this event for example ~ this room at Green Acres Country Club is lovely but a bit plain. Now enter a "Global ~ Earth" themed event for the YMCA this past week, add a few well placed balloons and you have....  This! Simple, single balloon centerpieces - using a "Bubble Earth Balloon" attached onto a basic balloon weight. The smaller tables had just the balloon centerpieces while the larger tables had a 12" wide and low cylinder vase filled with glass gems, under water lights (green and blue, of course) and 5 floating candles. Imagine how magical this will look when the sun goes down and the lights really begin to show.    The extra floating candles really add a glow - I can only imagine what they looked like when they were lit!    Taking our inspiration from the invitation (which looked similar to these favors below) we went full on with the Earth...

Flower and Balloon Company

Image
Someone called us the other day and said ~ "What do you do? I don't know what your company does". Hm, I had to think about that and there was a part of me (the Jersey Girl Part) that wanted to come back with "We do air conditioning and carpet cleaning" but as you an imagine, that won't win me any customers. This is not the first time I've been asked that question but our name really does say at least most of what we do. Monday Morning Flower and Balloon Co ~ we do flowers, we do balloons, that's not all but it's a big part!! This past weekend we inflated and delivered 500 helium filled latex balloons in shades of pink for a radio station "Breast Cancer" event. In fact, we inflate over 40,000 helium filled latex balloons every year. Just ask Alanna, Holly and Melissa and they'll show you they have the strong fingers to prove it!  Now yes, we also do flowers. Folks often say "I'll bet most of your flower sales come fr...

Balloons and the Environment

Image
BALLOONS AND THEIR BIO-DEGRADABLE NATURE Have you ever wonder if latex balloons are good for the environment and the answer is yes! There are two types of balloons in wide general use - latex and mylar. This distinction is important because each type requires different handling. Latex balloons are easily identified by their elastic character and are composed of natural rubber sap and small amounts of non-toxic coagulants and pigments. They are 100% bio-degradable. When exposed to outdoor elements they are completely consumed by soil or water micro-organisms at a rate quicker than that experienced by an oak leaf under identical conditions. In much the same way maple syrup is harvested from the maple tree, the production of latex balloons contributes positively to the preservation of tropical rain forests. Thanks Kevin for providing the information for this blog! To see more photos of our balloon even decorations vis...

What's New at the Shop

Can you believe it, in just a couple short weeks it will be St. Patrick's Day? We always love that holiday around here and this year with it falling on a Saturday, we will be going all out. We've ordered in plenty of green balloons, green carnations and will even have little shamrock plants to sell. Shop Coordinator Sheryl is going to be making calls to local Pubs and Restaurants to see if they want to spruce up their places this year and really make the holiday one to remember! I personally can't wait!  Ok, so anyone that knows me knows I am addicted to peeps. How cute was our display of yellow chick peeps and daffodils. The perfect combination for spring!  We sell tons fo our decorated cookies and even though I loved the ones shaped like fall leaves and poinsettia flowers, I could not be happier to see the spring flower ones arrive once again. A fresh shipment just arrived of Get Well and Happy Birthday decorated cookies came in too. Lots of birthdays this tim...
