Fairy Gardens

Image
I have a confession to make. I love fairies. I also love angels. I also love anything miniature so you can imagine these little fairy gardens are perfect for me. Well, actually they are not for me, they are for our customers but I had fun making them.  What is a fairy garden?  A  Fairy Garden  is a miniature   garden   complete with structures and actual living plants. It is designed to give your green thumb a place to tend year-round and to lure  fairies  and with them, good luck, to your home. It's a tiny space created and tended with love.   Don't you think they adorable? The one above has a beach theme complete with a "mini" palm tree, sand and a gravel ocean.   This little fairy is enjoying her time in the garden complete with a pinwheel, colorful mushrooms, tiny polka dot plants and a wishing well.   This little gnome is lighting the way. Can't you imagine his standing at the lakes edge guiding a row boat to shore?  We haven't

Blue Poinsettia?

Image
It's time for me to come clean. Red is my least favorite color (see Red or White Poinsettia Blog from earlier this week) but I do love poinsettias, so I look forward to them every year. But look what I found to sell in the store this year? Blue Poinsettias! Yes, they are tinted blue but aren't they super cute?  As you may or may not know, my favorite color is blue (see some of our marketing material pictured below) so when my poinsettia supplier had these available. I could not resist. Weight in... do you like Blue Poinsettias? Would you want to receive one this holiday season?

Red or White Poinsettia? Take Your Pick

I admit, we don't sell quite as many poinsettia's as we used to but still a few hundred come into the shop, get dressed up and then leave the shop to brighten someones day. We sometimes sell pink ones, or marble ones and even blue ones but Red and White Poinsettia 's are still our best sellers. Which color is your favorite?  These lovely plants make wonderful gifts.
