What's On Instagram late March, Early April

Image
Sorry folks, we've been a bit light in the blogging department but it's been a busy few weeks at the shop and so we thought we share what's been going on through the eyes of our Instagram account!! A few weeks ago we created this adorable LEGO themed party. So cute right?  While I was in a Wedding Flower meeting the ladies had a little fun and shot this Selfie! !  Lots of purple flowers leaving the shop like these designs created for a photo shoot at Chauncey Conference Center. Do you like them?  Each week we create lobby floral designs for about 30 companies. Aren't they adorable?  Last but not least, slowly but surely we have been changing over from stock design photos to real photos and here's another one that seem to be a big hit on Instagram. Do you like it?  There you have it, a few photos from our recent Instagram feed. We hope you follow, like and share!

Balloons are Therapeutic~ by Kevin

Image
Balloons can be therapeutic! So far this has been a very busy year for our Company installing Balloon Décor. If you follow us on Facebook , Instagram , Twitter or various other Social media sites I'm sure you've seen the many posts and pictures of our Balloon decorations.   Recently, I was on site creating a balloon arch and as always, many people stop by to ask questions about what we do, how we do it, how long we've been Balloon decorators etc. Every time I stop and talk to the curious onlookers I notice one thing in common - everyone is smiling as they look at the Balloons ! This made me think how cool our profession is and also how much fun and pleasure it brings our customers. Some of the comments and questions I've heard from people have been: That's so cool. I'd love to do that. I remember when I was a kid..... My Uncle, Father, Brother use to give me a balloon every.... I love Balloons That's my favorite color. Ho

Balloons and a Bank

Image
This past week a brand new bank opened up in the Yardley area and we were lucky enough to be hired to decorate the branch to greet the customers during the grand opening. We've actually decorated many First Choice Bank events and they always end up looking so festive. These 2 balloon columns greeting customers at the door.  The teller windows each had a centerpiece of balloons - wow, they look so good they should have these all the time.   Such a simple and affordable way to kick off a new First Choice Branch in Yardley PA.  To see these and other balloon decorations visit our event website at www.mondaymorningballoons.com

Ocean Themed Bat Mitzvah

Image
We had such a wonderful time designing these Ocean themed centerpieces. Can you guess the flowers used in these floral designs?  What would a bat mitzvah be without the balloons and these fish, dolphin and whale balloons were just the thing to bring the theme into Tre Piani for the party.    To see these and more of our themed event design be sure to visit our event website at www.mondaymorningballoons.com

Us at the Trenton Thunder Ballpark

Image
Gosh, it's has to be at least 5 years that we've been partnering with the Trenton Thunder Baseball Team and providing them with all their floral and balloon decor needs. I still get a tickle down my spine when I go to the park and see my sign among all those other national and local businesses. Makes me right proud to partner with such a great organization. This past Wednesday, which was the 4th of July, the Ballpark showed a standing room only crowd a fantastic time. What is more American then Baseball, hot dogs and sitting out in the sunshine! Ending the night with fireworks made for the perfect, All-American 4th of July holiday! Want to learn more about the Trenton Thunder? Up, Up and Away, Not So Fast!

Guest Blog By: Our very own - Kevin Vinicombe Most people aren’t aware of the significant Helium shortage currently in the United States until they try to purchase Helium filled Balloons from their local Party Shop or Florist.   Some retailers that use Helium for decorating or resale are finding it increasingly difficult to secure a supply; some vendors are rationing or completely cutting off retailers. Unfortunately the shortage as been creeping up on us for a long time, some experts say it began in the 1996 when the US Government starting selling their reserves to private refiners as part of the Helium Privatization Act.   This made helium a plentiful resource for years, until recently. Helium is extracted during the same process with Natural Gas and since we’ve experienced a mild Winter the extraction of Natural Gas has been minimized even though there is plenty of Gas available.   It boils down to basic Economics of Supply/Demand and Cost/Benefit for the company’s that ext

Springtime Gifting

Image
Every year we seem to sell more and more gifts and this spring is no exception. I had so much fun choosing some items to bring in for Easter, Mother's Day and Summer and I have to say, my favorite is this line of Zebra Print Gift Items. Stuffed animals, coffee mugs and even the cool tote bag all make great gifts for Mom or anyone having a birthday this summer. Homefront and the Good They Do

Image
It's hard to believe that I became aware of  Homefront just about 20 years ago. My friend Ann was involved in the organization and told me all about it. It was perfect timing for me because I was helping my mother and father move from New Jersey to Virginia. My mom had 2 of just about everything in her kitchen and there was no way we could move it all. Ann told me I could donate all their  "perfectly good" extras to Homefront (then called the Exchange Club) and so she put me in touch with the founder, Connie Mercer. At that time, Connie and her band of volunteers were helping folks that were homeless and living in motels on Route 1 by getting them into "real" housing. Ever since then, we've been donating flowers and balloons for their clients and their special events. Fast forward to 2012 and my "visit" with Connie to Homefront this past Monday, I can't tell you how impressed I am with the amazing organization she has built. Touring th

What's New at the Shop

Image
Can you believe it, in just a couple short weeks it will be St. Patrick's Day? We always love that holiday around here and this year with it falling on a Saturday, we will be going all out. We've ordered in plenty of green balloons, green carnations and will even have little shamrock plants to sell. Shop Coordinator Sheryl is going to be making calls to local Pubs and Restaurants to see if they want to spruce up their places this year and really make the holiday one to remember! I personally can't wait!  Ok, so anyone that knows me knows I am addicted to peeps. How cute was our display of yellow chick peeps and daffodils. The perfect combination for spring!  We sell tons fo our decorated cookies and even though I loved the ones shaped like fall leaves and poinsettia flowers, I could not be happier to see the spring flower ones arrive once again. A fresh shipment just arrived of Get Well and Happy Birthday decorated cookies came in too. Lots of birthdays this time

Marking Milestones with Balloons

Image
It's always fun to open up the paper and see our balloon or flower handy work. In this case a local Princeton business was celebrating their first anniversary with a ribbon cutting and festive balloons. What about this arch that we created for the Trenton Thunder Baseball Team when they wanted to celebrate making it into the playoffs? Flying over 70 feet long, 20 feet above the heads of arriving fans, it sure showed that it was time to celebrate! Spring is one of our busiest times of year for balloon designs such as this arch we created for Mercer County Community Colleges graduation last year. What better way to celebrate a milestone than with balloons! They are big and showy and sometimes it's just what you need to celebrate! To see these and many other of our balloon designs check out our website at www.mondaymorningballoons.com or www.sendingsmiles.com

It's All About Balloons

Image
What's more fun that festive balloons at a party? Did you know that Monday Morning Flower and Balloon Co inflates over 40,000 balloons each year? Now that's a lot of hot air - or helium to be exact. Balloons are so much fun for all kinds of events like Bar and Bat Mitzvah, Sweet 16 parties, showers, anniversary and birthday parties. Take this Sweet 16 held at KatManDu in Trenton, NJ http://www.katmandutrenton.com/ with only three balloons in each bouquet, yet so visual. To see more of our balloon design work, visit our event website at http://www.mondaymorningballoons.com/ . We hope the next time you throw a party, you might consider decorating with balloons!

Just a Few Balloon Arches to Celebrate the Season!

Image
It's definitely balloon season!! How cool is this big balloon arch that Kevin created this morning for First Choice Bank. The perfect way to kick off a grand opening! Not many retail florists in our area can get this arch set up and ready to go by 7:45 am! We love flowers but we love balloons too! How did this client find out about our services? Apparently the American Heart Association referred us. We love referrals and our business depends on them. Just this past weekend we created 2 spiral arches (just like this one) and 3 column arches for the Heart Walk over at Mercer County Park. That set up took a team of 4 working from 5 AM to about 8 AM to finish before the walkers showed up! People often ask if we do balloons - um, hello -Monday Morning Flower and Balloon Co. Balloons are in our company name and in our blood! On Saturday AM we once again created two large spiral arches in Palmer Square for Princeton Boro's JazzFeast. I love the lime green and black combo on this one

Big Balloons

Image
In case you did not know, Monday Morning Flowers inflates and sells over 40,000 helium filled balloons each and every year. Wow, that's a lot of balloons. Lots of our balloons leave our 2 shops in balloon bouquets but many of them are delivered and arranged for special events, such as this one. Kevin and Sheryl did not have far to go as this surprise party was being held at Tre Bar right here in the Princeton Forrestal Village. What fun it was, tropical colored balloons accented with giant mylars in the shape of a watermelon (inside family joke apparently). Arches and columns also take many balloons and before you know a year goes by and 40,000 balloons get inflated!! Smiles All Around

Image
What's a party without balloons? I especially love these smiley face mylars because they are not only happy but they are colorful. Balloon centerpieces are a great way to make festive any boring banquet room or outdoor tent. These balloons were for a big birthday party and both the adults and kids loved them! Not only are the very showy and fun but they are affordable. Switch the colors from fun to elegant and the look changes completely for events such as a 50th anniversary or a more formal gala. To see more examples of our balloon decor check out specialty website at http://www.mondaymorningballoons.com/ .

Big Balloons!!

Greetings from Asbury Park!!

Image
As I've said before, I'm a Jersey girl. This coming from a flower shop owner who has a fish named Bruce at one shop and Springsteen in the other. Kevin and I live in Hopewell, NJ and have our shops in Princeton and Yardley Pa but we both grew up closer to the Jersey Shore. We both have very fond memories of Asbury Park, especially Kevin who used to drive the "circuit" in his old Chevelle! Over the years time has been hard on Asbury Park but those of us who love the city have always had faith that the people would come back and so it seems they have! Today were able to drive the coast and ended up at Asbury. We were so happy to see all the new business including the kiddie water park, the many restaurants and gift shops not to mention the gorgeous beach and ocean. If you live anywhere near the Jersey Shore, show your support by walking their lovely boardwalk and spending a few dollars in Asbury!! A view of an un-restored building lovingly known as the Casino.
