Late September Weddings

Image
Isn't late September such a nice time to have a wedding? The weather has been a bit wicked this year being a bit more rainy and muggy than usual but we sure have loved the color combinations from some this months weddings. Orange has been popular all year going from burnt to corals (with pink undertones) right on into light, soft peaches. Take this bouquet above. Peach and orange roses, spray roses and berries accented with spectacular dahlias were the perfect color combination for a late summer, early fall bouquet. This bouquet was held by the brides maids and the one below was held by the bride.   The bride carried peach roses, orange spray roses, peach mini callas, creamy white roses and dahlias accented with peach berries. This bouquet was created for Amy's brides maids. An exact copy (but a bit smaller) of a bouquet we created for bride Keally last year (also featured in Contemporary Bride - NJ) this lovely combination of peach, pink, white and yellow was made using...

Pinks, Pinks and More Pinks

Image
Let's face it, pink is back for wedding designs and it's back in a big way. This past weekend we created a "very pink" wedding for our bride Kelly and with amazing results too! Unable to get her the peony she loved (just between seasons - too late for local and Dutch, too early for Chile) we still achieved that soft, round feel she loves by using a mixture of ranuculus, garden roses, tea roses and hydrangeas in shades from pale to raspberry pink.  Kelly's bouquet was lush, full and hand tied. Don't you just love those huge garden roses? They have become so popular that during prime wedding season there's not enough being grown to meet the worldwide demand for them!  For Kelly's brides maids we created hand tied bouquets using tea roses, spray roses, ranuculus and hydrangea, accented with pops of lime green buplurium.  Can you ever really go wrong with using roses in wedding designs? We love pink at Monday Morning Flowers - as you an see from employe...

Amanda Bouquet

Image
Last weekend saw us creating and delivering 5 weddings. How do we do it you might wonder but honestly, at this time of year the pace slows down quite a bit, allowing us to take on more than normal in the way of weddings. Thank goodness for these happy occasions during the summer to keep us stimulated and rejuvenated. This bouquet was created for bride Amanda and if her thumbs up on our Facebook Page - www.facebook.com/localflorist are any indication, she was happy with the gorgeous, fresh bridal bouquet we created for her. Roses in shades of deep pink and orange, deep plum colored carnations, mini viking poms and medium size sunflowers, an accent of orange lilies, limonium and buplurium and you have one, colorful summer bouquet! Summer Simple

Image
It's that time of year when our summer brides come in to plan their weddings. It still might be a bit damp and chilly outside but it's warm and sunny in my bridal consultation room! What a wonderful time of year the summer is for a sweet and simple wedding, don't you think? I really loved the bouquets we made for Keally and Dan last year. Shades of pink, peach, yellow and white were so adorable with the colorful green dresses. How about these cool blooms created for bride Caroline at the Princeton University Prospect House last summer.  Clear glass cylinders were lined with variegated  leaves that were filled with pale blue hydrangeas and deeper blue delphinium.  Who says big is better? I say to pop it out with color! Keeping the elements to a minimum make for an elegant but restful appearance. A Real Wedding

We had great fun creating the wedding flowers for Kate and Chris. Colorful rose and gerbers - our favorites! Love this shot by Jeff Tisman photography which shows the natural beauty, up close and personal, of our flowers! We really loved the pop of the oranges and yellows against these deep pink dresses! How cute are these flower girls. I love the dresses and the tiny babies breath halos were the perfect touch, don't you think? Kate carried a big bouquet of all pink roses in three different shades. Simple but elegant. So sweet - love the sky in this photo. Makes me want to get married all over again, just so Jeff Tisman can take my wedding photos!! :o) Clear glass cube vases filled with hot pink, orange, green and yellow flowers really popped and made a summery statement! Simple touches of colorful flowers makes such a difference on this gorgeous cake! Our designer Holly did such a great job! I think you'll agree that Kate and Chris's wedding just screamed summer!
