Fresh Spring Wedding Bouquet

Image
Natural and rustic is the theme of this bouquet for our Bride Alaina for her wedding at the Lambertville Inn. Locally grown lilacs, fever few daisies, succulents, blue thistle, silvery brunia and lime green buplerium make for a very textured, fresh picked bouquet.  Formal satin ribbon would not have gone with this bouquet so the stems were wrapped in a natural twine keeping with the sophisticated rustic theme of the bouquet.  Love the mini succulents we added to the bouquet, don't you? Don't Be Shy - Colorful Bridal Bouquets

Image
Had to share one of this weekends wedding bouquets and what a colorful bouquet it is! It's not December yet and this colorful, fall themed wedding bouquet proves it. I love when brides are not shy about having colorful bridal bouquets like this one. Made from mini callas, orchids, hydrangea, hypericum berries, mini gerbers, roses, safari sunset, pin cushion protea and even blue thistle, this bouquet is sure to  be a look as she walks down the aisle.  Do you like this bouquet? Would you carry something so colorful on your wedding day?

Scenes From an Elegant Wedding

Image
Can you ever go wrong with an all white wedding ? One of this past weekends weddings had us using elegant flowers in shades of white with touches of crystals, candle light, diamonds and rhinestones. Jessica's bouquet was created using ivory roses, creamy white hydrangeas, white mini callas, ranunculus and touches of rhinestone sprays.  For Jessica's ceremony we provided our ivory satin covered chuppah accented with touches of fresh foliage's flanked by two elegant floral arrangements on garden pedestals.  In the ballroom, tall and lush floral displays were created up on 28" tall pedestal cylinder vases which are a rental item , then filled with clear gems, amber underwater lights, a single white cymbidium orchid bloom and fresh water. At the base were diamond like gems sprinkled over table mirrors and 3 crystal votive candles.  To formalize the chandeliers, we had 25 feet of crystals sprays to each fixture. I can only image what this looked like when the

This Weekends Wedding Bouquets

Image
What an weekend! Three weddings and all so colorful and lovely! First up, bride Jackie chose these super cool green and ivory bouquets for her maids. Green buttons, orchids and berries along with ivory roses. Loops of lily grass make for an interesting combination, don't you think?   Bride Jackie's bouquet was a stunner for sure. Deep blue thistle, ivory roses, white mini gerbers, arabicum, hydrangea and anemone's combine to make for a very textured bouquet.  Ah, I'm in love with cascade bouquets lately and this one is amazing. White and purple picasso mini calls with white stephanotis, white tea rose and deep burnt orange spray roses accented with green berries and ivy for bride Gia.  Gia's maids will carry these amazing burnt orange roses, ivory spray roses and brown berries. What a pretty combination for a fall wedding, don't you think?  Bride Melissa went for the softer, romantic side of a fall wedding. Very pale blush pink roses, silvery lav

This Week in Weddings

Image
This weekend's weddings seem to sum of the weather. On one hand, it's October 6th and the nights have started to get cool and the leaves are starting to drop here near our shop in Princeton Forrestal Village. Summer is definitely over and so our wedding designs for bride Dawn reflect the traditional fall feel of the season. Her bouquet was made using rich red roses along with a variety called Circus, which is a yellow and red bi-color. Along with the roses we have mango mini calla lilies, seeded eucalyptus, burgundy berries, Tango pincushion protea and very cool uhule fiddle ferns. She loved it!!  Now talking about weather, although the calendar says fall, the temperatures say summer, hitting highs in the low 80's so our next bride Kristie's bouquet reflect the feel of the day. Her bouquet was made using yellow fever few buttons, yellow and pink ranunculus, white mini daisies, garden roses, buplurium and gardenias. Gardenia's are special to Kristie and keep

A Back Yard Wedding In September

Image
What a glorious day Patrick and Amber had for their back yard wedding. Setting the stage was the mother and father of the bride's farm  in Hopewell, NJ with lovely views in all directions of fresh green grass and lush trees. The perfect setting for a late September wedding  The bridal party all carried gerbera daisy bouquets. Yellow for the brides maid's and white for the bride. Yellow with accents of greens and creams was the over all color theme for the day.   After driving up a long driveway lined with hanging mason jars filled with yellow solidago asters and tiny white daisies the guests were led past the entrance to the home out into the side yard for the ceremony. This fresh flower wreath and potted mums helps set the tone for the rustic elegance of the decor to come.  When I met with Mother of the Bride Lisa at the family home I was taken by the large, open side yard with it's majestic tree. What a wonderful backdrop for the ceremony. Our iron ar

Nautical Themed Wedding at the Jersey Shore

Image
Wow, how fun is this wedding we did this summer at Molly Pitcher Inn? Bride Amy (sister of last years  bride Lauren at Nassau Inn) and groom Matt had a very cool nautical vibe going on to her wedding. Taking place right on the river in Red Bank really set the stage for a fantastic day! The sun was out, it was a bit hot but who could complain with a cloudless sky at the Jersey shore - we sure couldn't. Design Manager Holly and assistant Brendan did a great job delivering and setting up this rather complex wedding. Making our way to the shore from the Princeton area during the summer is no easy task. We had so much fun working with the family again and loved all the flowers and decor they chose. Amy's bouquet was hand tied using white mini gerbera daisy, regular daisies, roses, yellow craspedia and accents of lime green fillers. I loved how her bouquet complimented her lovely gown and especially loved the accent of the variegated foliage around the outside of the bouquet.

Rachel and Dion's Wedding

Image
Couples like Rachel and Dion are the type of bride and groom that make what I do a real joy. Not only was it a delight to work with Rachel and her mother but I loved everything they chose! Take Rachel's bouquet for example: Orange roses, peach spray roses, cream ranunculus and dahlias, peach stock, mini calla lilies and touches of peach berries - oh the lovely colors and textures! She loved her bouquet and we could not have been happier!   Their wedding reception took place at the Princeton Marriott and had  vintage book theme. I loved the old card catalog that Rachel found at a Library. She used it for the escort cards - how cute!! Some touches of ivy, their engagement photo and an orange and peach floral arrangement made for a sweet display.  For their tables we created 3 different styles of centerpieces. This style had three different sizes of candle holders, each with an amber underwater light and a floating candle. Touches of petals and ivy trails and a books her

Corinne's Wedding - Pewter and Yellow

Image
We love when brides send photos and how nice of bride Corinne to send these lovely shots from her recent wedding. Her color theme of pewter and yellow was such a striking summer color theme, don't you think? Her bouquet was made of all white gerbera daisies with light colored centers and accents of yellow craspedia. Similar to past bride Lauren's bouquet from last year. It was sunny and happy, just like Corinne! I always love Gerberas but don't you love the color of the shocking yellow ones? In this case, the dark centers play up the rich grey of the dresses along with a pop of silvery dusty miller to finish off the bouquets. You know I love rental glassware and the perfect spot to use it is at Triumph Brewery in Princeton. A huge space and long tables are perfect for this mix and match of floating candles in different size and styled vases. Also, a great play off the black linens to really pop and create drama. And the Crowd Goes Wild

Image
We post photos of our wedding designs just about every week so imagine our surprise when I posted this photo on our Facebook Fan Page to have it skyrocket to over 100 shares and at least that many likes and comments? Wow, it just went viral - showing how powerful this color palate of purples and blues is right now. We loved the mixture of flowers used in Bride Rochelle's wedding bouquet - including Cool Water purple roses, Picasso mini callas, purple stock, limonium filler, white stephanotis (with purple pearl centers), purple lisianthus (with buds removed) and deep blue volkenfreiden delphinium. Remember to Budget for the Wedding Ceremony

Image
Decisions, decisions... planning a wedding is not an easy task not to mention expensive. With many weddings ceremonies today happening at the same place as the reception, many couples forget to include (or leave) money in their budget for flowers and ceremony decor.  Although it's nice to decorate a church or synagogue, I find they need a bit less done to them to transform them into a wedding location. In the case of Jackie and Donovan's wedding this past Septmeber, we concentrated the decorations to the pews and did not try to add anything to an already beautiful altar. I think the hydrangea and ribbon accents on the pews showed that something special was about to happen. The brides color palate of simple creams and ivory helped tone down the colors already present in the church and not compete with them. We also chose not to put the flowers on every pew. Every third one was decorated and helped draw your eye down to the altar without costing a fortune. Simply tied

Alejandra Roses

Image
Last weekends wedding for bride Allie had us using lots of peach flowers such as these gorgeous Alejandra roses. What we love about this rose is the vintage coloring of the outer petals. A hint of green along the edge and then a deeper shade of peach towards the center, looks especially gorgeous as it opens more fully. Colorful Fall Wedding for Jennifer and Eric

Image
Fall has finally arrived here in New Jersey and PA . With temps in the low 50's in the early am and sunny skies, it's the perfect time of year for a wedding. Yesterday we had the pleasure of creating pretty floral designs for bride Jennifer and her now husband Eric. It took a bit of work but finally their vision was transformed into flowers and as you'll see below, with wonderful success! Below is Jennifer's bridal bouquet . Green garden roses (called Super Green), white hydrangea, ranuculus, gardenias and touches of silvery dusty miller. Hand tied for a compact design, we can't wait to see her professional photos! Now here is where the colors come in wow, what colors they were. Deep blue delphinium, orange spray roses (that were a bit two toned, similar to Circus Roses), Santana roses which were a deep orange, orange mokara orchids, yellow craspedia (billy balls) and accents of dusty miller. Each bouquet had their stems wrapped in an antique gold ribbon secu
