Flower Centerpieces on a Tight Budget

Image
Would you like centerpieces at your next party but not sure if you can afford them? Here's some tips to keep the cost down and still have beautiful flowers! Be flexible on the flower selection; the most economical way to order flowers is to ask for flowers in a color theme, not by flower varieties. As florists, we buy flowers week in and week out directly from our farm sources. They often come in solid flower types but in mixed colors. Buying this way keeps the cost down because we are ordering large quantities in advance allows the farms to sell a lot in whatever color they have blooming at that time. When a florist buys in small quantities by certain colors, the price per stem can be double or even triple the case pricing. Keep in mind, that this only works for smaller orders. If you need 25 centerpieces that all look the same, special buying may be necessary, thus raising the cost.  Let the designer suggest what will give you the biggest presentation given your budget. This or That ~ a lesson in color

Image
It's Saturday afternoon and I'm thinking about the 3 weddings we did today. One was blush pinks and creams, one was creams, corals and peaches and one was purples and blues. It's amazing how floral designs in different colors ~ even using similar flowers can look so different. Case in point are these 2 centerpieces. Created for a Corporate Client who likes to see options, both are valued at the same $65 per table. When I posted these on our Facebook Page asking folks to tell us which was their favorite, it was easily 50/50 with a few saying they loved both. It's amazing how choosing one color theme can make floral designs even more dramatic. Imagine if these 2 centerpieces were multicolored ? They wouldn't really have the same level of sophistication and drama ~ don't you agree?  The peaches and corals are warm and elegant while the purple shades are cool and bright.   The next time you are ordering centerpieces for your next event, why not choose ...

Flowers in the Sun at Palmer House

Image
Who's ready for some warm weather? We are, we are! This week we had quite a few floral events including this one at Palmer House in Princeton. Just looking at this picture makes me happy! Look at those amazing azalea bush in the background! Hey and the floral centerpieces look pretty good too!   Don't you just love the colors on these centerpieces? Hydrangeas, roses, protea, carnations and feverfew.

Sweet and Simple

We love this color combination used to create centerpieces for a wedding reception ~ baby blue hydrangea, pink roses, blue delphinium and pink waxflowers. Styled low in a simple round dish, these centerpieces really looked natural and elegant. Perfect for the setting at the Marriott located in Forrestal Center.  To see this and more of our event design, visit our event websites at www.mondaymorningballoons.com  and/or www.perfectweddingflowers.com

Party Time Once Again

We love April and May at the store because of all the fun parties we get to decorate! Our designers were  hard at work making centerpieces today.  Blue and white centerpieces for a corporate meeting. Love the blue iris! Folks are loving all the bright colors at this time of the year. I'll bet these looked sharp on the tables.  To see these and more example of our party floral centerpieces, be sure to visit our event website at www.mondaymorningballoons.com

Wedding Flowers ~ Just for the Day? You Bet!

Image
It's just for the day! Yikes, we cringe every time someone says that to us while discussing wedding flowers . It's usually followed by "I don't want to spend a lot of money on them". Everything for your wedding day is for the day - you'll wear your gown once (but it will be in pictures), you'll listen to the DJ and dance (memories of fun that will last a lifetime) and you'll enjoy delicious food and drinks (hm, where is that the next day?).  Yes, flowers don't live forever (neither do people) but they do bring much to the "table" literally with regards to your wedding day. Take this wedding for Rhiannon and Joe ~ we had so much fun creating these fun wine themed centerpieces. They provided the mason jars and boxes and we did the rest.  Obviously they not only looked pretty on the tables but look what they did when they got them home? More than "Just for the day" don't you agree?

Special Events in Princeton, NJ

Image
It may be Christmas around her but if you are within 50 miles of Princeton University, you are bound to see some Black and Orange, like at this event we just created centerpieces for. We love working with the folks at the University ~ both Staff and Students and it's we are always looking for creative and affordable ways to do up the Tiger theme of Black and Orange.  These centerpieces were designed in plastic black footed bowls using roses, berries, lotus bods and cat tails with a few unusual painted craspedia and pin cushion proteas. Designed with a touch of boxwood, they look seasonal while still being well within the Princeton zone!   Nope it's not Halloween - it's an event at Princeton University!  To see this and more of our event decor for businesses, school and social ~ Be sure to check out event website at www.mondaymorningballoons.com
