Roses sell 12 months out of the year but we admit that fall colored rose designs just might be our favorite. September is All About Weddings

Image
Well, that is actually a bit misleading as September keeps us busy with all kinds of things from Weddings, to Funerals, School Decorating Events and the list goes on. I must admit, however, that creating wedding flowers for sweet and deserving couples is always a stand out at our shop. Take last weekend for example. We had three weddings and although we had to really hustle to get everything created, delivered and set up, it's such rewarding work. The photo above is for our beautiful bride Amanda K (yes we had 2 Amanda's in one day) and her handsome hubby Jon. Their wedding took place at the Boat House at Mercer County Park and although unseasonably warm, the day was spectacular and the lake view amazing. Are you planning a wedding for 2018? Now is the time to book your date with us!! To see more of our wedding designs be sure to visit our wedding website at www.perfectweddingflowers.com

Wedding Anniversary Gift Ideas for Men to Their Ladies

Image
Do  you have a special anniversary coming up ~ 5 years, 10 years maybe even 25 years? Well, we have some really great ideas for you! Take past Groom Ellis for example? This past week was he and Tina's 5th wedding anniversary. What did he do to make the day special? He had us duplicate her bridal bouquet for her! What a sweet guy and what a great idea, right? Can't remember what was in her bridal bouquet ? Don't worry, any talented florist can take a peek at a photo and determine how it was made and what flowers were used. In the case of Tina and Ellis, we designed the original bouquet 5 years ago and so it was easily recreated.  Wow, what about sending this? One hundred, yes I said 100, long stem red roses . Imagine the delivery arriving to her office and how amazing she will feel when all her coworkers see this! Roses are the traditional anniversary flower and they speak of love but if red is not her color, why not send her assorted colors of roses like this ...

A December Winter Wedding

Image
I admit that I love doing winter weddings. Last weekends wedding for bride Suzanne was especially pretty. Her bouquet was created using white anemone's, silver brunia berries, white roses ~ both tea and sweetheart size and light accents of lace dusty miller.  The reception was very intimate and romantic with lots of warm candle light and keeping the white and silver color theme going. The Nassau Inn's Palmer room was the perfect place for this winter reception, don't you think?  Low and long centerpieces created with roses, hydrangeas, dusty miller cedar and gerbera daisies were perfect for the 2 long guest tables. Floating candles added a soft glow to the room. To see this and more of our wedding designs, be sure to visit our wedding website at www.perfectweddingflowers.com

Loving Those Wedding Pics

Image
We are love doing weddings and it's just so much fun when photographers and brides share photos with us, like this one from Janet Lanza Photography. Created for our bride Allison on 9/15, this bouquet was just so simple and elegant. Hydrangeas, roses, gardenias and ranunculus accented with silver tinted seeded eucalyptus with a simple rhinestone band - just makes you say... ahhhh.  What more could a girl ask for?  To see this and other of our wedding designs, be sure to check out our new wedding website at www.perfectweddingflowers.com .

Carnations and Roses - Perfect Together

Image
Roses and Carnations are 2 of my favorite flowers and I especially love them together. One of this weekends weddings has us using both types of flowers in brides maids bouquets.   The difference in texture and the slight shading difference will looks especially pretty in pictures when taken from a distance. In this case, the carnations also help with cost because our bride has quite a few attendants and needed to keep the cost down. Rachel and Dion's Wedding

Image
Couples like Rachel and Dion are the type of bride and groom that make what I do a real joy. Not only was it a delight to work with Rachel and her mother but I loved everything they chose! Take Rachel's bouquet for example: Orange roses, peach spray roses, cream ranunculus and dahlias, peach stock, mini calla lilies and touches of peach berries - oh the lovely colors and textures! She loved her bouquet and we could not have been happier!   Their wedding reception took place at the Princeton Marriott and had  vintage book theme. I loved the old card catalog that Rachel found at a Library. She used it for the escort cards - how cute!! Some touches of ivy, their engagement photo and an orange and peach floral arrangement made for a sweet display.  For their tables we created 3 different styles of centerpieces. This style had three different sizes of candle holders, each with an amber underwater light and a floating candle. Touches of petals and ivy trails ...

Image
What an elegant combination - ivory roses, hydrangeas, dahlias, arabicum and ranunculus. I love the soft, natural and romantic combination is perfect for a summer wedding. Our designer, as always, has done a lovely job forming the bouquet to show the different shapes and textures while keep it soft and round. A Real Beach Wedding

Image
Oh my goodness, the line of brides in and out of our shop has been constant (and a bit overwhelming if I'm truly honest)! I predict that our wedding calendar is going to book up faster than any other year since I started doing weddings 20 years ago. On one hand, I'm flattered because it means the word out on the street is that we do a great job with our wedding designs - offer beautiful flowers, fair pricing and excellent service. Wow, I patted myself so hard on the back and knocked myself off my chair! Just kidding. On to the topic listed above - A Real Beach Wedding. The other night I met with past bride Jodi and her friend Jackie to talk about her October wedding. I admit, I was a bit more snippy than usual and I'm going to admit that I probably had put in too long a day, with too little food and water and the tail end of a horrible cold dragging me down. Sorry Jodi and Jackie!! But how sweet was it to come in the next morning to see in my email, sent that night at 1...

A November Wedding for Brides Andrea and Suzan

Image
What a difference a week makes. Last week it snowed and this week, although chilly, the sun was out. Today we created and delivered 2 weddings, one for Suzan and David and the other for Andrea and Kyle.  Above is the hand tied bouquet we created for Andrea. What lovely color, don't you think? What I loved about what she chose is that her bouquet not only contained a very cool mix of flowers which included Heart garden roses but also purple carnations, yellow mini calla lilies, Tango pincushion protea accented with chocolate cosmos and foliage's. From there we jumped to each of the 3 brides maids who carried a single type of flower but all different ones. This bouquet is all obviously all roses but what a rose it is. You've heard me talk about my love for Circus roses and this time is no exception. Don't they look like a fiery sunset all bundled into one small package? The second brides maid carried a bouquet of all yellow mini calla lilies accented with s...
