Just a few Valentine's Day suggestions!

Image
Valentine's Day is February 14th - See what we have to offer this year Choosing a Valentine's Day gift can be a bit confusing because there are so many options. Our specialty is being able to deliver the gift for you. Imagine their face when a gift is delivered right to the job!! Although  Red Roses  is the traditional gift of love during the Valentine's Day holiday, we offer so many other options for you. Although red roses can get pretty pricey during the month of February, you are in luck because we have many options to choose from that won't break the bank. Here's just a few to help you decide!! We have to start off with a dozen (12) long stem red roses because it is tradition. These gorgeous blooms are going to be arranged in a 10" tall red glass keepsake vase this year. Although they are one of our highest priced items at $124.99, they are also one of the most dramatic designs we will be delivering. These are called our Valentine's Day Red R

January ~ a time for events

Image
January ~ a time for social and corporate events? You bet! You would think that during the month of January, there would not be too many corporate or social events happening but it is the furthest from the truth. We have been hard at work creating flower centerpiece after flower centerpiece. This week has had us creating floral centerpieces for Executive Board Meetings (like the photo below) and other corporate events. Believe it or not we even have an order for Holiday themed c enterpieces . Why, you might ask? Because if you are in the restaurant business and you want to throw a holiday party for your staff, you certainly can't do it in December, so January is the perfect time!  Add a non-profit installation dinner, a 100th birthday party and a few other events and you have a very busy schedule of parties. Our flower designing staff have been hard at working making flower centerpieces of all sizes, shapes and colors. With the centerpiece designs below, the client reque

A Stressful Couple of Weeks Inspired This Post ~ we hope you find it helpful!

Today is Going to Be a Good Day ~ by Monday Morning Flowers. In today's Monday Morning Flower blog post I'm not doing the usual floral post. Flowers and Positivity - they really do go hand in hand, so todays post is going to have a little spin. Have you ever noticed that when you drive by a field of flowers that you can't help but look and smile? That's why at this time of the year we flock to farms to pick apples, pumpkins and walk through fields of Sunflowers. The photo below was taken on a trip that the hubby and I took to California. These flowers are called Stock and I tell you they smell like heaven on Earth.  Have you noticed that many health facilities have live plants in their lobbies and floral related paintings on the walls? That's because studies show that looking at nature, including plants and flowers, uplift the spirits and aid in healing. Well, that's not really the reason for my post today, it is just a jumping point from which to talk

Random Acts of Kindness

Image
I had a thought while driving in the car this morning ~ I think sending flowers is almost a "Random Act of Kindness". When we make flower deliveries the person receiving the floral gift does not expect them. Sometimes it's their birthday , sometimes it's a get well but often they are not expected. I guess by definition, it's not totally random as the sender knows the recipient but it really is unexpected and to me that makes it one of the most powerful gifts you can give. I think most of our Floral Stylists here at the shop think the flowers are the most important part of the gift and of course, a gorgeous, fresh arrangement never hurts - but the card sentiment really convey's the message, making the receiver feel loved and special.   Want to make someone's day? We say send them a bouquet of flowers and that will do the trick!!

Blue Roses

Image
Whether you love them or hate them there is no denying they make a strong statement. Take these Blue Dyed Vendela roses. They come directly through the Dutch Flower Market and are quite shockingly blue . Imagine them combined with other flowers.... And then there you have it. Our bride Cathryn wanted these Blue Roses combined with medium sized dark centered sunflowers and this was the outcome. You have to admit this bouquet is memorable!  Would you consider this combination for your own wedding bouquet? We'd love for you to tell us!

Staff Favorites: Alanna

MMF Staff Favorites: Alanna Alanna is our Customer Care coordinator and has been with the company for 5 years this Spring.  When I came out to our showroom Alanna was already holding this cool terrarium made by our newest colleague Jeneen . "Terrariums are fun because they are a little ecosystem you can have right on your desk, and the cover makes it even easier to care for because it holds the condensation." Did you know we have European style hand-tied bouquets available at both our locations ready for you to choose and take with you in a hurry? Alanna liked this one highlighting Protea from South Africa and Freesia. Spring is almost here and we have been getting in some amazing flowers. Alanna (and the rest of us) loved this lavender Sweetpea! We get in new flowers from local sources and all over the world on a daily basis, stop in to see what goodies are available today. :) Thanks Alanna!

For the Next Few Weeks We will Be Highlighting MMF Staff Favorites! This week our Sales Associate Heena who has been with Monday Morning for 16 years, shared a few of her favorite items in our newly renovated showroom! This rustic and fun " We Do Family " decorative sign is a new item for 2016. "I love sign's message, and it's perfect for a housewarming or hostess gift." These beautiful heart shaped Anthurium just arrived straight from one of our favorite farms in Costa Rica and are featured in some of our beautiful tropical designs . "With such an exotic shape and texture, this is definitely one of my favorite flowers to feature in arrangements." If you don't want to just give flowers this Valentine's day or just pamper yourself, this decadent spa basket  is the perfect gift. "Filled with beautifully smelling scrubs, lotions, and high quality accessories you can't go wrong with this gift, looking fo

Our Store Remodel

Image
If you have been in our shop over the last few days you may notice a few changes. It was time and we we're all so excited for the New Year to arrive! The first part of the remodel was to remove our dated, over sized walk in/display cooler. Folks seem surprised that we wanted to remove this unit but we had some very good reasons. It was 18 years, it had a slow leak that required either $11,000 worth of repairs or $1,000 worth of freon every 3 to 4 months. The most compelling reason for removing this cooler was because although it looked brand new from the outside, it was actually now too big for our needs. Most of customers are unaware that when we expanded 9 years ago, we added another large walk in cooler measuring 12 feet by 15 feet which is more than an enough refrigeration space for our needs. A new large 2 door cooler will be replacing the one we took out but see below for how open and airy the shop looks now! We're really having fun displaying more plants, gardens and

Scenes from the Shop Mid December!

It's that time of year. Can you believe it's less than 2 weeks to Christmas ? It's warm outside today as I write this but it's very festive and wintry at the shop. Here's a peek into our world this month! This morning I added a table of gift ideas and stocking stuffers under $10. Candy, nuts and cookies along with ornaments, mugs, figurines and more.   This week's $5 Friday were winter bouquets of carnations, thistle berries and baby's breath.   We still have lots of Christmas signs, boxwood trees and wreaths.   Today we made a star arch for an awards breakfast.  We just got in some new jewelry like this stone necklace for only $9.99  Gold mercury glass is all the rage and we have them in different shapes and sizes.   It's the time of year when Bling is In!   Lots and lots of poinsettia's waiting to be delivered in the drivers ramp.   On December 7th we hosted a holiday centerpiece design class and the ladies ha
