Lovely Lilacs

I feel like it's been forever since I blogged but I guess surviving the biggest floral holiday (and creating floral designs for 2 weddings) will do that! Actually, I blogged on May 8th and talked about last minute Mother's Day Gift ideas and wow, what a great holiday we had. Ok, back to the topic at hand ~ Lovely Lilacs. Have you noticed those lovely lavender colored flowers starting to grace your bushes at home here in NJ and PA? Yes, the local lilacs are in season and one of last weeks weddings had us using bunches and bunches of them in wedding bouquets and centerpieces. Although we were a bit too busy to get the usual photographs , I couldn't resist this shot of our delivery van loaded with these amazing centerpieces. The fragrance inside the van was amazing and driver Jeff and Set Up Assistant Matt were traveling in style on their way to the Lambertville Inn to set this wedding up.  Elegant ceramic compotes were filled lushly with lilacs, lavender Ocean Song ...

 No two the same, it's what I always say, no two weddings we do are ever quite the same. Just a look at these recent wedding bouquets proves my point. Take the brides maids bouquet above for example. Roses, gerbers and dahlias in red, accented with deep sapphire blue delphinium, green garden roses and accents of fresh buplurium make for a colorful bouquet. If you like the way they look in our design area, you should have seen them up against the sapphire blue brides maids gown! Wow!  This bouquet is set to be delivered for bride Kristen even as I type the blog. The colors are amazing and what makes this bouquet even more special is the unstructured design. With an eye towards it not being overly round or symmetrical, this bouquet delights in different ways from different angles.
