My Top 3 Tips to Save Money on Your Wedding Flowers

Image
1 - Bigger is not always better. If you think a big bride's maids bouquets  or big centerpieces are the only way to go, then think again. Is it really worth going into debt to have large wedding flowers that you can't afford? I say no! I think when couples spend more than they should it's not because a florist talked them into it, it's because they may not have been open to suggestions. An example would be these very simple centerpieces from last weekends wedding. Long tables needed more than one floral arrangement to look full. A few well placed votive candles and with 3 simple babies breath with a single rose vases help to fill out the table and play to the country theme of the event.  Need help budgeting? Read out blog on how to budget correctly HERE . 2 -  Larger flowers cost less in the long run than more expensive tiny ones Have you ever wondered why a certain flower seems to be so expensive even if it's tiny? Size has nothing to do with cost. ...

A Vineyard Wedding

Image
This past weekend we had the pleasure of creating wedding flowers for Nicole and Kyle, who held their wedding at Hopewell Valley Vineyard in Hopewell, NJ. On each side of the tent we created large displays of hydrangea in tall clear glass cylinder vases.  Cocktail tables, both high and low were placed around the vineyard and inside the meeting space. We especially loved the wooden chairs and stool not to mention the table cloths that intermixed a soft burlap style with other sporting a beige and white check pattern.  The 28 elegantly appointed guest tables each had a floral centerpieces measuring 12" high by 14" wide. The centerpieces were created in low dishes and then filled with flowers in shades of white and cream, which included ...

Elegant Feathers

Image
Ok, it's a "had to share" moment. I love, love, love this bouquet that we have created for our bride Katie who is getting tomorrow! All white mini callas accented between with simple, cool white feathers. How sophisticated and striking with a slightly "Art Deco" feel. I'm truly loving it! I can imagine the guests faces when they see her enter the gardens at Prospect House on the campus of Princeton University. As she passes, they will be dazzled with a view her feathered headpiece. To be clear this is not for the our bride Katie getting married on Sunday! I'm giggling as I write this because I can picture Katie number 2's face drop if she reads this and thinks "where is my bouquet of creams and pinks of roses and orchids"! Ah, I love the summer wedding season.....
