Fall Flower of the Week - Sunflowers!

Sunflowers – gorgeous, uplifting and perfect for fall (yes, that’s right, not only a summer favorite!)  The sunflower is a happy, bright and beautiful flower that is not only used for its aesthetic appeal - although they look very cute with a eyes and a smile in this arrangement, "Six Pack of Sunshine," made by Designer Norman. Cheaper than olive oil, sunflower oil can be used to make butter, margarine, peanut butter, “sunflower bread”, biodiesel, and was used by American Indians for bread, ointments, dye and body paint.  With its big, bright appearance, the sunflower always adds a little bit of joy to any floral arrangement. The Top 3 Things I've Learned Selling Flowers

I live and breath flowers, flowers, flowers, flowers - it's what I think about all the time. No matter where I am or what I'm doing, if there are flowers there, I notice them. So obviously, I've learned a thing or two and these are the Top 3 Things I've learned About Selling Flowers!  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Flowers are like food. Amanda Bouquet

Last weekend saw us creating and delivering 5 weddings. How do we do it you might wonder but honestly, at this time of year the pace slows down quite a bit, allowing us to take on more than normal in the way of weddings. Thank goodness for these happy occasions during the summer to keep us stimulated and rejuvenated. This bouquet was created for bride Amanda and if her thumbs up on our Facebook Page - www.facebook.com/localflorist are any indication, she was happy with the gorgeous, fresh bridal bouquet we created for her. Roses in shades of deep pink and orange, deep plum colored carnations, mini viking poms and medium size sunflowers, an accent of orange lilies, limonium and buplurium and you have one, colorful summer bouquet!
