Christmas Wedding Flowers ~ looking back to last year

Image
Christmas Wedding Flowers by Monday Morning Flowers Christmas Wedding Flowers by Monday Morning Flowers ~ What a wonderful time of year to celebrate with family and friends and get married. It's hard to believe that we created these pretty floral designs for a wedding almost a year ago. St. Paul's church in downtown Princeton was the site for the ceremony and as you can see, what fully decorated for Christmas with lit trees and huge red poinsettia plants. Our bride Alisandra wore an elegant ballgown while her sister was dressed in a red dress with crystal sleeves. The ends of the pews had accents of fresh holly cut from the Farm the bride grew up on.  Once the guests arrived to the Nassau Inn, they were greeted with elegant wreaths and a large boxwood tree decorated in red roses , berries and white doves.  As the guests took their seats they were treated to a dance by the bride and her father. So sweet!! The bride was radiant the her Father looked so handsome in his t...

Our Favorite Winter Weddings

Image
We love doing Winter Weddings and here are a few of our favorites from the last few years!  Bride Alexa had super fun with her girls - they each carried baby's breath and don't you just love her adorable blue sweater. Her bouquet was blue hydrangea and white anemone's with navy blue centers.   This tear drop bouquet was gorgeous (even if it's not the best picture). Garden roses and stephanotis looked amazing with a back drop of all rich red poinsettias. The flower girl even carried an adorable wand of fresh roses with streaming gold ribbons.   This New Years Eve wedding was so simple and elegant - all white roses, calla lilies and silver brunia berries.   This early winter wedding at the Nassau Inn had a Scottish theme!  Winter white with accents of silvery ~ the bridal blue had a hint of midnight blue delphinium.   This elegant design was placed in the lobby outside the Prince William Ballroom at the Nassau Inn - so pretty and...

New Years Day Wedding

Image
In a previous blog I talked about whether lanterns were going to continue to be a Wedding Trend into the New Year and so being the wedding is complete I wanted to share a few photos! Below is a picture of the beautiful altar decor that we created. Tall curly willow branches connected at the top with a flow of white flowers at the base in beautiful large garden urns.  The ceremony area of Lambertville Station Inn  It was a perfect wintry day on the Delaware River with an amazing view from the Riverside Ballroom. The lantern centerpieces probably looked amazing once the lights came down and the sun went away.  Each table had a wreath of fresh curly willow, angel vine, creamy white roses and berries. The lanterns were really the perfect look for the Riverside Ballroom.  Each lantern was adorned with fresh flowers, rosemary, a soft chiffon ribbon with the table number.  Thanks to a very thoughtful and creative bride we were even able to decora...

Wedding Trends Update ~ Lanterns in or out?

Image
As I sit here writing this post, I'm looking at a grouping of lanterns all ready to go for today's New Years Day wedding and it got me to thinking. It's now 2016, lanterns have been popular wedding decor for the last 5 years or so, do I think this trend will continue? I'd say Yes.   Not only because our today's bride Kristen has chosen them for her table decor (and yes, she borrowed these lanterns from a friend who probably used them at her own wedding ) but because I've met with several other future brides who are also interested in going down the "lantern route" somewhere in their decor.  In the case of today's wedding, the lanterns really fit her rustic feel with accents of gold (the lanterns are cream with gold antique brush strokes) and by adding accents of gold seeded eucalyptus, berries and fresh rosemary to the top of each table lantern, helps to bring the look together with all of the person flowers she has chosen. Above is ...

A Winter Wedding at the Somerset Palace

Image
It might not be the most common time of year to have a wedding in New Jersey but we love working on Winter Weddings , like this one for Sri and Adrienne at the Palace of Somerset this past December. The theme was all about sparkle and glitter with snowflakes and touches of purple and lavender .  Above this mini hand tied bouquet was created for the bride to toss and decorated the cake table until it was needed.   The bridal bouquet was a combination of hydrangeas, stock and Picasso mini calla lilies that are white with purple centers.   Our lovely bride was very pleased with her bouquet.   It might not have snowed that weekend but it's certainly snowed a lot since then, making us dream of a future winter wedding in New Jersey!

A Christmas Wedding

Image
We love when our families share pictures right away with us, like this past Saturdays wedding. A winter white wedding held during Christmas at St. Paul's in Princeton and then on the Nassau Inn in Palmer Square, both settings looked amazing for the holiday season.  I especially loved Kate's elegant tear drop shaped bouquet of white roses, orchids, stephanotis and peony.  With a sea of Rich Red Poinsettia's Kate and her Flower girl share a little lovin'!   The flower girls wand of roses and deep gold tinted ruscus foliage with streaming ribbons. Actually easier to carry than you might think, we bet she felt like a princess for the day.   The escort card table stood tall and elegant to greet the guests.  The centerpieces were styled half tall and half low. This one was created with cascading orchids and gold Italian ruscus.   The low centerpieces were designed in a wreath arrangement with a bowl of floating candles int he center. These m...

Cranberry Wedding at the Cranbury Inn

Image
Cranbury Inn is one of our favorite venues for weddings and last weekends wedding for Danielle and Jason ranks pretty high on our favorite decor list. Held just a few weeks before Christmas, this holiday themed wedding that included winter berry, holly, pine, red roses and of course, cranberries really set the mood for the holiday season. Below is the pretty table arrangement we created for the place card table.  Next came the ceremony. Because the ceremony was held in the same location as the ceremony, the arch was the perfect way to anchor the "altar" and the floating Cranberries and hanging juliet candles looks so pretty lining the aisle.   Imagine these when the lights went low.   A touch of cranberries at the base of the Juliette holders were the perfect little touch to infuse a bit of red.   During the reception the candle holders were now used to decorate the ledges along the outer edge of the ballroom adding a warm glow.  The centerpiec...

A New Years Eve Wedding -

Image
Don't you just love the stem accent on this bridal bouquet? An elegant cream ribbon accented with pearls and rhinestones. So romantic and elegant.  Sahara roses are by far one of our favorite roses here at the store. When a bride does not want white or ivory, these roses are a lovely shade of soft beige and along with the Sahara roses we added in Vendella roses which are a very soft ivory. In this case we added a rim of lace dusty miller for a hint of softness and a touch of silver, without the bling.   Notice the color below in full sunlight.  This photo taken in the store shows the creaminess of the roses and the full effect of the stem treatment. A soft wired ribbon accented with tiny pearls. The height of elegance and romance.

Another Winter Wedding

Image
Are you surprised that we have so many December weddings? We're not, we love December, January and February weddings, especially when they have a winter theme. White and silver is so popular right now and I'm seeing lots of couples using silver and gray as an accent into 2013. High on the lists seems to be gray and silver brides maids dresses, accents of silvery beads in the bridal gown, gray tuxes and even silver shoes and jewelry.  Yesterdays bridal bouquet for Lesley was styled using ivory roses, white mini calla lilies, ranunculus, stephanotis and touches of lacy dusty miller foliage. Isn't it lovely?  The brides maids carried simple bouquets of ivory roses with touches of dusty miller. Lesley wanted her Maid of Honor's bouquet to be a bit different than the rest of the brides maids so we added touches of deep blue delphinium and silver craspedia along with roses, mini calla lilies and the dusty miller. I personally love silver with blue and I can only ima...

A December Winter Wedding

Image
I admit that I love doing winter weddings. Last weekends wedding for bride Suzanne was especially pretty. Her bouquet was created using white anemone's, silver brunia berries, white roses ~ both tea and sweetheart size and light accents of lace dusty miller.  The reception was very intimate and romantic with lots of warm candle light and keeping the white and silver color theme going. The Nassau Inn's Palmer room was the perfect place for this winter reception, don't you think?  Low and long centerpieces created with roses, hydrangeas, dusty miller cedar and gerbera daisies were perfect for the 2 long guest tables. Floating candles added a soft glow to the room. To see this and more of our wedding designs, be sure to visit our wedding website at www.perfectweddingflowers.com

What Are These Cool Berries?

Image
If you read our blog often and see our wedding designs, you are sure to have seen these cool little berries that we us in our arrangements. What are they? Coffee beans? Holly berries? Nope, they are called Hypericum Berries and they are actually a cut flower used in many florists shops. In the case of these red ones, the look is quite seasonal and really adds a pop of color, just like they do in the bridal bouquet below. This is a sneak peek at bride Amanda's wedding bouquet for tomorrow. What about these green ones below? Added among cream and white flowers, they add a touch of green with a spring or summer feel. Add light colored red ones among deep red flowers for a bit of contrast and color. They come in so many different colors such as green, peach, orange, brown and red, they fit into just about any season. Add their deep green leaves into the mix and you can see why we design with them so often. To see more of our floral designs, visit our website at www.send...
