Balloons, Balloons and More Balloons!

It's funny how the calendar changes from February to March and suddenly, customers start calling for balloon decor! I love it! Every spring hundreds of balloons leave the shop to decorate for fun events such as Communions, Proms, Sweet Sixteens and Mitzvahs. What better way to usher in spring and celebrate good times than with a balloon arch or clusters of balloons flying high over party tables?

Even corporate events such as sales meetings and fund raisers can really benefit from a bit of balloon decor. What else really gives you that kind of "bang for your buck"? Flowers are fun but balloons speak volumns with out breaking the bank. It's especially fun doing themed parties using balloons. Just today we met with a client who is hosting a "movie" themed party. Each table will have a giant cluster of balloons that will look like buttery popcorn flying over a red and white popcorn tub. Fun, but simple and certainly will be memorable!

Walk a thons are also big users of balloons. It's always fun crossing over the starting line and walking under a big, colorful balloon arch. Each year we inflate about 40,000 balloons with helium! Now that's a lot of balloons.

The next time you are planning a fund raiser, corporate event, birthday party or prom why not think about balloons to deocorate.  I predict that themed parties will be big again this year with movies, music, sports and flowers be popular again.

It's amazing what you can do with 12 carnations and a little bit of creativity. Our Floral Designer Rocio loves making puppy arrangements so here she shares her tips with you! Here's what you will need ~ 12 full size carnations, floral glue, floral tape, a floral container, 1/3 of a block of floral foam and some assorted greenery.  First take your wet floral foam and tape it securely into your floral container.  Slowly start adding the 12 carnations starting with the top to form the head, the ears, the face and the 2 front legs.   Keep going, adding carnations but only using 12 total!  Now he has his 2 front legs, sitting over the edge of the container.  Using the floral glue, add the eyes and the nose. Never heard of a Grave Blanket? Don't worry, your probably aren't alone. Here in the north east is customary to have a lovely "blanket" made from ever greens and winter accents to be placed on the grave of a loved one.  It's just a nice remembrance during the holiday season to make the graveside look a bit more decorated and festive.  According to Ask.com   "A  Grave blankets are a type of flower design that is used to decorate graves.
