Play Ball ~ A Baseball Themed Bar Mitzvah

Image
I admit that I can take little credit for this fun/gorgeous party decor as Alanna was the Sales Associate who worked with the event planner and all flowers were created and set up by Event Designer Holly. This Bar Mitzvah at Greenacres Country Club was all about the color blue! The shocking blue hydrangea highlighted the white gerbera daisies, roses and carnations. Half the tables were low styled designs in gold leaf wrapped cylinder vases which held the monogrammed table number. The kids tables each had a tall centerpiece that was create on top of huge cylinder vase filled with baseballs with a dome of blue and white flowers on top.  The floral designs had touches of silver foliage and silver brunia berries which really complimented the powder blue napkins. The overall view of the room was quite spectacular and it appears that a good time was had by all!  To see this event decor and others we have done be sure to check out our event website at www.mondaymorningballoon

Our Instagram Feed in October!

Image
We've been having so much fun posting on Instagram and sharing our world here at the flower shop. Alanna has been doing a wonderful job and it's fun to take a look back at some of our favorite and popular posts from October.  A few highlights from Jennifer and Darren's wedding at the Westin hotel. We loved all the purple! This months design class was a fun time had by all - making spooky martini floral centerpieces! This photo was part of the "Instagram Takeover" with Princeton Online . Feel free to link here to see more of our design classes that are coming up!  We love the autumn shades with lots of rich reds in the designs we created for Jennifer and Jim's wedding at the Nassau Inn.   October is a super busy month for balloon work like this balloon arch for the Leukemia and Lymphoma light the night walk in Morris Plains. This was a team of George and Alanna while Kevin built the same exact displays in Sewell and Long Branch. Now that

Petal It Forward

Image
Earlier this month our shop participated in a national floral movement that put fresh flowers into the hands of the public! To learn more, this below for the press release publish in our local media about the event!  On October 7th, we handed out hundreds of bouquets to residents to help brighten their week, as part of the 'Petal It Forward' program, in partnership with the Society of American Florists (SAF). 'Petal It Forward' is in response to the release of new data by SAF showing the positive emotional benefits of flowers.  University research shows that flowers have an immediate impact on happiness and a long-term positive effect on moods. Now, a new survey has found that when it comes to flowers it's just as good to give as it is to receive. With this data in mind the Monday Morning Flowers Petal It Forward team is not only spreading happiness to lucky Princeton residents who receive the flowers, but arming these residents with an extra floral bouque

Cascades are Back

Image
I know I've said it a few times over the last few years but this year I really think it's true. Take today's bridal bouquet for Daniella for example. Stunning orchids, lisanthus, roses and lilies combine together to create an elegant bouquet of white, blue and purple. Daniella's bouquet is the 5th one we have created in the last 2 months while we may have created only 5 for all of last year. Truly a trend? I think it just might be.  One of the observations I've had over the last 2 months while meeting with current and future bride's is that although they want a natural look, they are looking for a bit more formality.  Even though this bouquet is a hand tied, the bride wanted a "slight cascade" of eucalyptus. Isn't it pretty?   I know I've been blogging a lot about weddings , but with wedding season upon us and bride's meeting with us for next year, I can't help but share my observations. What do you think about Cascading Brid

Wedding Flower Trends for 2015 and Beyond

Image
It may seem a little "Late" to be talking about 2015 wedding trends and I would agree with you if it weren't for the fact that we still have some last minute Fall and December weddings finalizing with our shop right now. I love these "Late Arrival Brides" because they give me a peek into next years wedding trends. Speaking of last minute weddings, Beautiful Emily shown below was a bride we worked with on her August 20th wedding . First meeting with her Mother (who had no idea what Emily might like to have for her wedding) we had to wait for Emily to finish school to finally dig into her flower wish list. This happened 11 days before her wedding . Yes you heard right, 11 days.  Although this may have added a few gray hairs to my head being I was not sure what Emily might like, plus I had to cost out and propose quickly not to mention I had missed every single deadline for order Farm Direct Flowers (this could be a blog in itself) but we needless to say, we w

To Coral or Not to Coral ~ that is the color question

Image
No color has been more confusing to me over the years than coral. Described as a redish or pinkish shade of orange (gee, that's helpful) it remains a very popular color choice for wedding designs. No matter what you call it, this pretty "shade" has been in heavy use this wedding season and I've met with couples for 2016 who are also asking about this pretty color theme. Take the wedding flowers above created for a wedding this weekend. Amsterdam Roses, Bismark Gerbera, Brilliant Coral Spray rose and peach/coral hypericum berries combine to create one striking combination, don't you think? Would you consider this color theme for your wedding ?
