Mountain Mint

Image
Have you ever seen Mountain Mint? Well, this is the variety that we get here at the shop to design with and it's one of our favorite foliage's to use in the summer. With it's lovely mint fragrance and bright lime green foliage's and little balls of sunshine, it's missed when it goes out of season in late summer. Locally grown right here in New Jersey, we use it in just about every wedding we do all summer long. It's lush and full bunches are long lasting and very economical. As you can see from Designer/Sales Associate Alanna holding them - the bunches are huge! To see more of our floral designs be sure to check out our website at www.sendingsmiles.com and we'd love it if you liked our Facebook pages at www.facebook.com/localflorist (for our Princeton shop) and www.facebook.com/sendingsmiles (for our Yardley shop).

Being an Educated Consumer

It really is a long, time consuming process and with everything in life, carries a price tag because of it. Below is the intro I used to one my "education" blogs and if you read further, you'll see how my earlier working experiences have made me the business person that I am today. Enjoy and let me know your thoughts! ~ Georgianne   I'm a b

How Many Different Ones are There?

My friend Patti always cracks me up... "I'm going to return in another life and sell widgets!" She's my friend but also the person who finds the flowers I need for the shop and they come from all over the world.  I love my job, I love flowers but sometimes I completely understand Patti's battle cry to sell a product that is not: Made by Nature Perishable Subjective and.... Misunderstood Don't get me wrong, the flower biz is just about the best career ever but it can be a bit of an uphill battle. Take for instance a call I had 2 weeks ago.. Ring, ring, ring... Georgianne: Hi, How can I help you? Customer: I just got yellow roses delivered and I think there is something wrong with them. I think they are old. Georgianne:  Oh my, what's wrong with them, are they wilted? Are they drooping? Customer: No, but they are brown along the edge and they look bumpy and they don't look like the yellow roses I've gotten before. The petals look we
