Our Store Remodel

Image
If you have been in our shop over the last few days you may notice a few changes. It was time and we we're all so excited for the New Year to arrive! The first part of the remodel was to remove our dated, over sized walk in/display cooler. Folks seem surprised that we wanted to remove this unit but we had some very good reasons. It was 18 years, it had a slow leak that required either $11,000 worth of repairs or $1,000 worth of freon every 3 to 4 months. The most compelling reason for removing this cooler was because although it looked brand new from the outside, it was actually now too big for our needs. Most of customers are unaware that when we expanded 9 years ago, we added another large walk in cooler measuring 12 feet by 15 feet which is more than an enough refrigeration space for our needs. A new large 2 door cooler will be replacing the one we took out but see below for how open and airy the shop looks now! We're really having fun displaying more plants, gardens and

Our Instagram Feed in October!

Image
We've been having so much fun posting on Instagram and sharing our world here at the flower shop. Alanna has been doing a wonderful job and it's fun to take a look back at some of our favorite and popular posts from October.  A few highlights from Jennifer and Darren's wedding at the Westin hotel. We loved all the purple! This months design class was a fun time had by all - making spooky martini floral centerpieces! This photo was part of the "Instagram Takeover" with Princeton Online . Feel free to link here to see more of our design classes that are coming up!  We love the autumn shades with lots of rich reds in the designs we created for Jennifer and Jim's wedding at the Nassau Inn.   October is a super busy month for balloon work like this balloon arch for the Leukemia and Lymphoma light the night walk in Morris Plains. This was a team of George and Alanna while Kevin built the same exact displays in Sewell and Long Branch. Now that

Cascades are Back

Image
I know I've said it a few times over the last few years but this year I really think it's true. Take today's bridal bouquet for Daniella for example. Stunning orchids, lisanthus, roses and lilies combine together to create an elegant bouquet of white, blue and purple. Daniella's bouquet is the 5th one we have created in the last 2 months while we may have created only 5 for all of last year. Truly a trend? I think it just might be.  One of the observations I've had over the last 2 months while meeting with current and future bride's is that although they want a natural look, they are looking for a bit more formality.  Even though this bouquet is a hand tied, the bride wanted a "slight cascade" of eucalyptus. Isn't it pretty?   I know I've been blogging a lot about weddings , but with wedding season upon us and bride's meeting with us for next year, I can't help but share my observations. What do you think about Cascading Brid

Some of our Summer Flower Favorites!

Image
Can you believe it's already August 7th? We sure can't! This week has been a busy one for us creating floral designs for 3 gorgeous weddings and lots of daily deliveries. Take this floral design for example. Garden and tea roses, hydrangeas, orchids, hypericum berries, asiatic lilies and queen anne's lace combine to make a stunning floral centerpiece for a birthday party being held at Jasna Polana Country Club tomorrow.  Brightly colored flowers are not only popular for daily deliveries but today's wedding consisted of pinks, creams and peaches. Saturday's wedding is simple shades of white, greens and creams and Sunday we'll be using all white, lavender and purple flowers. If you received flowers right now, what color would you want them to be? Know someone having a birthday? Why not send them a bouquet of gorgeous flowers from our shop ? We'd love to help you... Send Them a Smile !

Scenes from the Shop in Early July!

Image
Hope you are all having a fabulous summer . The weather has been touch and go but the pace here at the shop has slowed down and now begins the work of cleaning, organizing and planning for the fall. Look for our listing of in store Design Workshops for the holiday seasons ahead being kicked off by our Christmas in July event on July 31st. More information on that later in the month! For now, the shop is full of gorgeous flowers and fun new gift items so I thought I'd share! Happy 21st! We've had wine glasses for ladies now we have beer glasses for the guys!   Ballet items sell all year round for us (must be because of the ballet studio here in the Village) so we've done a little Ballet themed display of figurines, bears, jewelry, mugs and frames!   We love lace flower and this Green Mist is especially gorgeous this week!   It's all about angels and girlie gift with fresh smelling candles from Aunt Sadies, teapots and cups and adorable signs for the ho

The Succulent Trend Continues

Image
My name is Georgianne and I'm a flower person. Yes. I have now said it, I love flowers and it doesn't matter the color, shape, type, style ~ you name it I love it. This weekend has us creating floral designs for 3 weddings including this one shown here. Designing with succulents still seems to be a trend that is not going away. This wedding for bride Carla will have using elegant but organic textured flowers such as dahlias, tea and garden roses, hydrangeas with touches of dusty miller and cut succulents. Be sure to check our wedding website early next week to see more photos from this amazing wedding .

Mother's Day Favorites!

The Mother's Day Rush ~ and boy what a rush it is. The busiest week of the year for us, even busier than Valentine's Day. Look at just a few of our favorite designs from the week so far! This arrangement is called Spring Time in Paris . don't you love the vibrant colors? Tulips, viburnum, roses, carnations, dianthus and more.  This was a custom; one of a kind designs. This arrangement included peony, roses, orchids, clematis and lilacs.   This arrangement is called Vineyard Jubilee and includes green hydrangeas, mini calla lilies, succulents and roses.  Why not call us to send your mother a beautiful arrangement from our store?

A Weekend of Communion Parties!

Image
Sadly we only have 2 cameras at the shop but we had 6 Communion Parties today! Below are balloons at Eno Terra. There is just something so sweet about Balloon Centerpieces , don't you think?  Next on the third floor of Tre Piani we had this lovely Communion for a little girl. Love the cube vases with the soft pastel and white Spring flowers.   Moving on to the 1st floor of Tre Piani here in the Princeton Forrestal Village, these mint julep cups were filled with brightly colored Spring Flowers . They even added a few balloon bouquets into the decor.   To see these and more of our event decorations, be sure to check out our website at www.mondaymorningballoons.com

Customers Sharing Pictures of their Flowers

Image
Nothing makes us happier than when our customers send pictures of the flower they received. It's nice to see how folks live with flowers in their home. This yellow rose photos was post last week by a woman who received these beauties from her children for her anniversary ! A customer also shared a picture of her 2 week old alstroemeria she got from us for $5 Friday . Looks great right?  Our past bride Lisa loved the pale pink roses her hubby sent to her.   White roses from a groom to his lovely bride on their wedding day.

Finding a Florist to Hand Deliver Fresh Flowers

Image
With all the confusion out there about sending a fresh flower floral gift, I'd like to clarify the best way to find a good florist. Let's say your want to send your mother a lovely floral arrangement for her birthday but she recently moved to a state you are not familiar with. You've never been there and you are not familiar with the florists in the area. In addition you don't want Mom to receive flowers that arrive in a box that she has to design herself. Here's 2 simple steps you can follow to find a good florist fast.   Let your favorite local florist help you. They may not be able to personally deliver but chances are they're part of a floral network of real brick & mortar flower shops that will gladly handle the delivery to your mother. It's called using a relay service. Shops relay to each other to handle out of town orders. We get orders into our shop from other florists and we send our customers orders to them. This relay is be
