A Back Yard Wedding In September

Image
What a glorious day Patrick and Amber had for their back yard wedding. Setting the stage was the mother and father of the bride's farm  in Hopewell, NJ with lovely views in all directions of fresh green grass and lush trees. The perfect setting for a late September wedding  The bridal party all carried gerbera daisy bouquets. Yellow for the brides maid's and white for the bride. Yellow with accents of greens and creams was the over all color theme for the day.   After driving up a long driveway lined with hanging mason jars filled with yellow solidago asters and tiny white daisies the guests were led past the entrance to the home out into the side yard for the ceremony. This fresh flower wreath and potted mums helps set the tone for the rustic elegance of the decor to come.  When I met with Mother of the Bride Lisa at the family home I was taken by the large, open side yard with it's majestic tree. What a wonderful backdrop for the ceremony....

Loving Those Wedding Pics

Image
We are love doing weddings and it's just so much fun when photographers and brides share photos with us, like this one from Janet Lanza Photography. Created for our bride Allison on 9/15, this bouquet was just so simple and elegant. Hydrangeas, roses, gardenias and ranunculus accented with silver tinted seeded eucalyptus with a simple rhinestone band - just makes you say... ahhhh.  What more could a girl ask for?  To see this and other of our wedding designs, be sure to check out our new wedding website at www.perfectweddingflowers.com .

Fall is in the Air

Image
It's officially fall here at the shop. Some folks think we rush it but as soon as we put out the fall products and merchandise our website with fall arrangements, they start selling. Take this dramatic floral arrangement for example:  It's one of our brand new designs for fall 2012. It's named   Autumn Expressions  and retails for only $42.95. The orange  cube vase makes such a nice keepsake and these rich autumnal colors really pop. Imagine this being delivered to you at work or home? We especially love the assortment of flowers and the dried wheat! Folks have also been starting to buy our Halloween and Thanksgiving table top pieces such as chip and dips, salt and pepper shakers, dried wreaths, wine glasses, pitchers, cookies jars and more. To see some of our new arrivals, check out this video on YouTube . Don't forget about our $5 flower specials and be sure to check out Facebook Page to find out what flower we have each week.

Creams and Greens

Image
With all the colors available to us, I have to say that I'm still a sucker for creams and greens. It's just so relaxing, elegant and unassuming, don't you think. One of this past weekends weddings for bride and groom Krystal and Rob had us doing flowers in shades of green (yes green flowers) and off whites. Below is the design bench as designer Norman works on one style centerpiece for their reception. Clear cylinder vases filled with ivory roses, cream hydrangeas, bells of Ireland and buplurium accented with natural ruscus. These are going to look amazing on the tables.   I especially loved her brides maids bouquets. Here is me holding one which matched my outfit perfectly! :) I especially loved Krystal's bouquet of cream dahlias and roses, white arabicum and super green garden roses. Light accents of buplurium kept the bouquet from looking to planned and gave her the natural feel she was going for. Such a pretty late summer flower combination don't you...

Kate's Red Bridal Bouquet

Image
My last blog showed the bouquets we made for bride Kate's brides maids to carry, so I thought I'd follow up with a quick blog and photo of Kate's Wedding Bouquet. A combination of red tea and garden roses, carnations and also red ranunculus, the bouquet is multi textured and shaded. I can only imagine how pretty this is going to look held up against her wedding gown.  Have you seen our new wedding website ? If not, you should hop on over and take note that we now have photos broken down into color themes and season ! The new layout makes it much easier to search for flowers that you need! Carnations and Roses - Perfect Together

Image
Roses and Carnations are 2 of my favorite flowers and I especially love them together. One of this weekends weddings has us using both types of flowers in brides maids bouquets.   The difference in texture and the slight shading difference will looks especially pretty in pictures when taken from a distance. In this case, the carnations also help with cost because our bride has quite a few attendants and needed to keep the cost down. Just Arrived Fresh This Week - Colorful Flowers

Image
When I say that we have some colorful flowers that have just arrived, I'm not kidding! Wow, the colors in the shop this week run from all the fall arrivals of reds, oranges and red to browns and even deep rich blues. Over 300 assorted colored gerbera daisies arrived from Holland this week and the flowers span almost 5 inches across. Some have dark centers like these yellow ones while others have a light center but all are amazing. Each week we try to get at least one variety of hydrangea that is a little bit different, either in the color or the same of the florets. These are called - You and Me Together Classic and they are an amazing shade of blue. Yes, they grow that color naturally without any help from dyes or paints. This particular variety seems to last a very long time and as it ages, it dries almost the exact same shade of blue with very little fading. Talk about a flower that gives it's all! The Color Purple - Pops of Purple are Everywhere

Image
This past week since returning from my California trip has been a whirl wind of bridal activity. Over the last few days alone I have booked on more 2012 wedding and 3 for 2013. What I have found interesting, is the demand for purple flowers for these weddings still seems to be quite high. Almost 50% of the new brides I'm meeting with are using purple in one way or another in their wedding flowers and decor. Many are choosing a shade of green for the maids or even deep lapis seems to be a favorite among current couples.  Thought I'd share this lovely centerpiece we made for bride Lori and her husband Steve. This floral design was create on to of our 24" tall candle holder. Inside the vase were twirls of purple callas and the cascading floral designing on top was made using green hydrangeas, purple roses, phaelanopsis orchids, calla lilies - both Picasso and Purple and light touches of a deep plum colored carnation. They were truly lovely in person.  I especially...

Nautical Themed Wedding at the Jersey Shore

Image
Wow, how fun is this wedding we did this summer at Molly Pitcher Inn? Bride Amy (sister of last years  bride Lauren at Nassau Inn) and groom Matt had a very cool nautical vibe going on to her wedding. Taking place right on the river in Red Bank really set the stage for a fantastic day! The sun was out, it was a bit hot but who could complain with a cloudless sky at the Jersey shore - we sure couldn't. Design Manager Holly and assistant Brendan did a great job delivering and setting up this rather complex wedding. Making our way to the shore from the Princeton area during the summer is no easy task. We had so much fun working with the family again and loved all the flowers and decor they chose. Amy's bouquet was hand tied using white mini gerbera daisy, regular daisies, roses, yellow craspedia and accents of lime green fillers. I loved how her bouquet complimented her lovely gown and especially loved the accent of the variegated foliage around the outside of the bouquet. ...
