Spring Wedding Trends

Image
Gone are the days of tightly compacted flower bouquets for the bride and her maids. Today's couples are looking for organic, messy bouquets and we are happy to comply.  Soft blushes such as light beige, pale pink and very soft peaches seem to be what most bride's are asking for. I admit that I might miss the vibrant colors of Spring Weddings past but blush and ivory tones are timeless, thus they never go out of style.  Cut succulents and garden variety flowers in bouquets look formal but unplanned. You can almost imagine a designer walking around a garden clippers in hand cutting gorgeous flowers and arranging them into these stunning bouquets .  When working with your florist it's important to give them a creative freedom to look for the most gorgeous flowers available in your colors and season. The bouquet above is a case in point. At least three elements used where found at the last minute to round out the bouquet and finish the look - resulting in a

Flower Centerpieces on a Tight Budget

Image
Would you like centerpieces at your next party but not sure if you can afford them? Here's some tips to keep the cost down and still have beautiful flowers! Be flexible on the flower selection; the most economical way to order flowers is to ask for flowers in a color theme, not by flower varieties. As florists, we buy flowers week in and week out directly from our farm sources. They often come in solid flower types but in mixed colors. Buying this way keeps the cost down because we are ordering large quantities in advance allows the farms to sell a lot in whatever color they have blooming at that time. When a florist buys in small quantities by certain colors, the price per stem can be double or even triple the case pricing. Keep in mind, that this only works for smaller orders. If you need 25 centerpieces that all look the same, special buying may be necessary, thus raising the cost.  Let the designer suggest what will give you the biggest presentation given your budget. 3 Alternatives to Red Roses this Valentine's Day

Image
We love red roses but let's face it, they are very expensive during the Valentine's Day season. Although  we do NOT raise our prices for the holiday, the rose quality is not as good as other times of the year so here are a few other options we think they will love! Take our Classic English Blooms - this design is Stunning with a capital S! The floral design is lush, elegant and full. Blue hydrangea, pink lilies and purple stock arranged in a 12" tall classic ming vase. Another sweet design and very affordable is our Puffy Heart Mug filled with pink roses, white daisies and lavender waxflowers and white monte casino accents. Add a teddy bear and a balloon and you have a adorable gift that will cost you 1/2 of what a dozen red roses would be.  Last but not least, instead of sending traditional roses, why not send an amazing "heart" anthurium plant garden? This "Wow" gift is not only unique but long lasting. Choose between sending a set of 2 or j

The February/March addition of Bridal Guide is out sharing a wedding we created for Kristin and Brandon at the Chauncey Conference Center. Below are a few of our favorite photos from this amazing wedding! The brides maids carried three Juliet Garden roses with summer grasses.   Kristin's bouquet featured lace flower, tea roses, garden roses, grasses, stock and 3 different types of eucalyptus.   The bride and groom rented some vintage furniture and used this bureau as a way of telling the guests what table they were to be seated at!   The wedding cake was a simple design accented with fresh flowers. The cake was created by Cramer's Bakery of Yardley, PA.   This is the addition the article is featured - February/March Bridal Guide   We always love working at Chauncey Conference Center but it was a truly was an amazing experience creati

Image
We just restocked our Amethyst Chunks! Aren't they gorgeous? These are available at our shop for only $9.99 each.  To meditate with amethyst, go into a room with soft lighting and a calm energy. Use your amethyst cluster to send energy and intentions into the universe. Sit or lay on the floor with the amethyst in the palm of your hand, and breathe in the violet energy of amethyst. Visualize what it is you want. Allow the mellow energy of the amethyst to bring to state of clarity. Imbue your soul with confidence and feel the amethyst radiating its protection into your spirit. When you are ready, take one last deep breadth in, and slowly open your eyes as you breathe out. Cleanse your amethyst after meditating by running under water or placing out in the sun.
