For the Next Few Weeks We will Be Highlighting MMF Staff Favorites! This week our Sales Associate Heena who has been with Monday Morning for 16 years, shared a few of her favorite items in our newly renovated showroom! This rustic and fun " We Do Family " decorative sign is a new item for 2016. "I love sign's message, and it's perfect for a housewarming or hostess gift." These beautiful heart shaped Anthurium just arrived straight from one of our favorite farms in Costa Rica and are featured in some of our beautiful tropical designs . "With such an exotic shape and texture, this is definitely one of my favorite flowers to feature in arrangements." "Filled with beautifully smelling scrubs, lotions, and high quality accessories you can't go wrong with this gift, looking fo

Our Store Remodel

Image
If you have been in our shop over the last few days you may notice a few changes. It was time and we we're all so excited for the New Year to arrive! The first part of the remodel was to remove our dated, over sized walk in/display cooler. Folks seem surprised that we wanted to remove this unit but we had some very good reasons. It was 18 years, it had a slow leak that required either $11,000 worth of repairs or $1,000 worth of freon every 3 to 4 months. The most compelling reason for removing this cooler was because although it looked brand new from the outside, it was actually now too big for our needs. Most of customers are unaware that when we expanded 9 years ago, we added another large walk in cooler measuring 12 feet by 15 feet which is more than an enough refrigeration space for our needs. A new large 2 door cooler will be replacing the one we took out but see below for how open and airy the shop looks now! We're really having fun displaying more plants, gardens and

Balloon Bouquets ~ a fun gift giving choice

Image
I've been in the flower and balloon business so long I sometimes forget how receiving one of our offerings can make someone feel. Just this morning I took an order from a woman who wanted to send a dear friend a big bouquet of Get Well and Thinking of You Balloons . Get Well Balloon Bouquet  She told me the story about how she felt when she received balloons when her son was born. She said she loved getting flowers but the balloons were so fun and festive and made her happy. I mentioned it was ironic that she and I were having this conversation because we are in the middle of a huge project of expanding our balloon bouquet offerings on our website. I guess it'a all about the timing. Here are a few new bouquets that just went live today!! New Years Day Wedding

Image
In a previous blog I talked about whether lanterns were going to continue to be a Wedding Trend into the New Year and so being the wedding is complete I wanted to share a few photos! Below is a picture of the beautiful altar decor that we created. Tall curly willow branches connected at the top with a flow of white flowers at the base in beautiful large garden urns.  The ceremony area of Lambertville Station Inn  It was a perfect wintry day on the Delaware River with an amazing view from the Riverside Ballroom. The lantern centerpieces probably looked amazing once the lights came down and the sun went away.  Each table had a wreath of fresh curly willow, angel vine, creamy white roses and berries. The lanterns were really the perfect look for the Riverside Ballroom.  Each lantern was adorned with fresh flowers, rosemary, a soft chiffon ribbon with the table number.  Thanks to a very thoughtful and creative bride we were even able to decorate a winter sled that w

Wedding Trends Update ~ Lanterns in or out?

Image
As I sit here writing this post, I'm looking at a grouping of lanterns all ready to go for today's New Years Day wedding and it got me to thinking. It's now 2016, lanterns have been popular wedding decor for the last 5 years or so, do I think this trend will continue? I'd say Yes.   Not only because our today's bride Kristen has chosen them for her table decor (and yes, she borrowed these lanterns from a friend who probably used them at her own wedding ) but because I've met with several other future brides who are also interested in going down the "lantern route" somewhere in their decor.  In the case of today's wedding, the lanterns really fit her rustic feel with accents of gold (the lanterns are cream with gold antique brush strokes) and by adding accents of gold seeded eucalyptus, berries and fresh rosemary to the top of each table lantern, helps to bring the look together with all of the person flowers she has chosen. Above is

Sending Sympathy and Funeral Flowers

Sending Sympathy This year has held major changes for everyone ~ that include the loss of a loved one. The loss of a family member or friend can be emotional and something we do not take lightly. It's trying to share beautiful floral arrangements during a ti me of loss.  We know that floral pieces help bring family members closure and we wanted share. Arrangements get showcased on Instagram and Facebook  because we know most people are at a loss of what to send and we are here to help.  We work closely with many local funeral homes, J Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel , Mather-Hodge Funeral Home  - to name a few.  Below is a large full casket piece. All white flowers including roses, gardenias, orchids, hydrangea and other flowers: All white floral designs are a popular theme due to their elegance and natural look. This piece below is the matching basket to the above casket piece:   Colored flowers help bring brightness to a somber setting, provide conversation and

Our December Instagram Feed

Another month of fun Instagram photos. Thought I'd share the behind the scenes from December!  Here a photographer posts a photo of a bridal bouquet we created in November and we share it on our feed!  Our Princeton store decorated for the holiday season!  Kevin and Alanna build a balloon archway for a non-profit awards breakfast in Woodbridge. This is a new frame for us and it really turned out great. It's 12 feet tall!!  A winter wedding of teals and white, snowflakes and birch branches at Old York Country Club in Bordentown, NJ.  A 3 foot tall boxwood tree decorated with real peacock feathers  for the Princeton Residence Inn. Even the ribbon had the peacock feather design!  We held 3 design classes during the month of December including this wreath making class. The students really did a great job.  Design Alanna went out to a club meeting for a demonstration and then then attendees bought what she made.  Lots of holiday themed floral desig
