Shades of Peach and Gray

Image
There's no doubt... all of us that work here at the flower shop just love flowers. But truthfully, how can you look at this photo and not love them? Garden and tea roses, ranuculus and tulips combined with funky accents of scabiosa pods (those cool green ball things) and dusty miller (the silvery lambs ear looking foliage) make for an interesting floral display. In this case, a brides maids bouquet but honestly, who wouldn't want to receive this mixture of flowers in a low glass cube vase or a silver cylinder container? Next time you order flowers, why not let the florist go wild and get a bit "unconventional" for you? There's a big "floral" world out there waiting to be discovered!! In Town Out of Town - Same Price Through a Local Florist

Image
We'll it's finally happened. We have done away with the service fee associated with sending flowers outside our own delivery. Using our affiliate of local flower shops in the Teleflora and/or FTD wire services, we can not only send flowers anywhere in the USA but now it does not cost you anything additional to do so. And remember, we are a local florist, sending to a local florist - There is no middleman!! Why is this a big deal? Because we want to be your local florist and years ago, before what our industry calls "order gatherers" came into existence our customers trusted us to send their orders both near and far. Those days changed forever with the invention of businesses who were not in the business of creating and delivering flower arrangements. Their sole business is to "gather" the order and "relay" them to local florists who were responsible for creating and delivery the flowers. What this effectively did was "cut out" the local

Hot Hot Hot Pink

Image
Hot Hot Hot Pink , originally uploaded by Georgianne at Monday Morning Flowers . It's another "Just had to share" moment! Just finished setting up this fun Bat Mitzvah for Hannah's special day over at Occasions in New Hope. Wow, look at that color and don't you just love the linens? So cool! What I love about these arrangements was that the client let us use ceramic containers that are a bit more traditional but really make for an unexpected pop against those crazy linens. Shades of medium to raspberry pink accented with lime green tied the look into the chair pads on all the black chivari chairs. Spiraling silver balloons on the kids tables that were attached to a mirror and had a hot pink jar of gumballs helped to keep the focus in mind - that this is a party for a 13 year old. No overly weddingish decor here. Elegant, quirky and age appropriate, I give this event decor 2 thumbs up!!

It's Halloween Time Again

Image
It's official - Halloween is almost here! The designers have started filling orders for novelty arrangements similar to the one designer Norman was creating yesterday. Tiny ghosts, witches brooms, gerbers and fall leaves are included in the Ghostly Greetings bouquet.  What a fun arrangement to send  to "ghosts and goblins" of any age, don't you think?

It's Boss's Week!

Image
Ok, don't laugh! Yes, there is a holiday known as Boss's Day. According to Wikipedia  Boss's Day (also known as Bosses Day or National Boss Day) is a secular holiday celebrated on October 16 in the United States. It has traditionally been a day for employees to thank their boss for being kind and fair throughout the year. The history of Boss's Day is that Patricia Bays Haroski registered "National Boss' Day" with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 1958. She was working as a secretary for State Farm Insurance Company in Deerfield, Illinois at the time and chose October 16 because she forgot that the birthday of her boss, who was her father, was actually on the 16th. Four years later in 1962, Illinois Governor Otto Kerner backed Haroski's registration and officially proclaimed the day. National Boss' Day has become an international celebration in recent years and now is observed in countries such as Australia, India and South Africa and very recen
