Fresh and Simple

Image
So, I posted this photo on my facebook page and people went crazy! It must be color but let's face it, it's a simple bouquet of three very common flowers - roses, mini gerbers and carnations but the color really takes it from boring to bravo! Tiny accents of branched solidago and add the fact that all these flowers are ultra high quality and fresh and with a bit of luck, we'll have hit a home run with our bride this weekend!! Gerber Daisies

Image
Need something affordable to decorate tables for a picnic, shower or other event? Personally, I love these simple floating gerber daisies. These were created for an event at Princeton University and the black stones and orange gerbers really scream Princeton! Five inch square vases give the daisy plenty of room to spread out and show the black river stones. Easy for guests to take home and very long lasting.  Sometimes simple works best!!

Simple Candle Centerpieces

Image
Simple Candle Centerpieces , originally uploaded by Georgianne at Monday Morning Flowers . I wanted to share these pretty centerpieces created for an intimate wedding held at the Salt Creek Grill this winter. Tall, square vases filled with natural river stones were the base for these candle centerpieces. Tied with a chocolate brown ribbon, the effect was natural but romantic. The location has an earthy, modern feel and these centerpieces really blended in with the environment. Flowers are nice but if budget does not allow why not consider something like this?

Scenes from the Shop - late summer '09!

Image
With kids returning to school in a few short weeks and the change of seasons not far behind, I thought it might be nice to do a "Scenes from the Shop" blog again. There has been so much activity at the shops I thought it would be a good time to fill in my readers! Above is a picture from a Bat Mitzvah we did yesterday. Lots of pink flowers and balloons made for a festive event at the Princeton Marriott Hotel! If you need a great location for your next event, you should check them out! These lovely centerpieces were for a wedding we did just yesterday for bride Rebecca. Her wedding was held at the Chauncey Conference Center and although the Hurricane hitting our shores caused much rain and a bit of flooding, the flowers sure brightened the mood of the place!! Chauncey is another great location that we work at quite a bit. If you need an natural, more out of the way location for your next event, they might be a great choice for you.! Want the Inside Skinny at the Shops?

Image
You may laugh but with over 20 employees coming and going between our two shops, that are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, it's hard to catch all our employees at the same time! Over the years I've become accustom to sending out my Red Alert News Bulletin's keeping the employees posted on the happenings at the company. While writing this one, I thought it might make a fun blog for those of you that would love the inside skinny of what's new and exciting at the two Monday Morning Flower shops! Read on to see what the employees see! :o) Red Alert!! Monday Morning News Bulletin! From, the Big Cheese, Georgianne Well, I thought it might be time to write a bulletin as the last 6 months have been very eventful, with both devastating news and rebirth. As some of you are new to the company and many are “old timers” I wanted to take this opportunity to let you all know how special and important each and every one of you is to Kevin and me both professionally but personally.

Happy Spring??? Scenes from a Flower Shop, Part 3!

Image
If you live any where near either of my shops, you woke up to snow this morning! How crazy is that? Well, it is if you are in New Jersey or near Buck's County Pa! Anyway, I am so ready for spring! This morning I walked around the Princeton shop taking it all in and so here are some Scenes from the Shop - Part 3!! Pretty wheat grass and spring colored roses. Fresh bunches of tulips (only $8.95) and hand painted vases with tulips designs. Designer Rocio shows off her very tasteful sympathy piece. It's taller than she is! Rocio is a designer in training and has been slowly learning sympathy design. Lucky for her (and us) she's been taught by her sister who helped bring her into the business. Both Reina and Rocio are naturals!!

Customer Appreciation...

Image
Hey, anyone out there that is nearby to our shop in Prinecton Forrestal Village, feel free to swing by and visit us during our Customer Appreciation Event. It will be held on November 18th from 6 - 9 pm at the shop. There will be food, drinks, give aways and music. Come on by and tour our production space, smell the flowers and meet the staff. Hope to see you there!

What is it Like at Monday Morning Flowers on a Monday?

Image
"I've always wanted to work at a flower shop!!" We hear that so often we've probably lost count! But working at a flower shop can be a lot of fun so we could not agree more. How many jobs allow you to work with your hands, creating little objects of beauty that will bring smiles to the person who receive it? There are not many jobs like that! I thought it would be fun to whip out the camera and take a few shots of the staff in the midst of their day. As you can tell, it took a lot of coaxing to get them to pose - NOT!! Pictured above are Reina, Rocio, Dianne, Kristie, Tina, Heena and Yarrow.
