Easter Traditions

When I was a little girl, my mother used to take great pride in her Easter Egg Tree. Actually this was our birch tree in the front yard but she would add 100's of plastic Easter Eggs in different bright colors tied on with colorful ribbon. Of course, she had me stand in front of the tree for my Easter photo in my best Easter Dress. It wasn't the Easter season in my family until Mom decorated that tree. Easter is one of my favorite times in the shop because I love plush bunnies and colorful plastic eggs. Call it tacky but it reminds me of happy childhood memories. We always had at least one Easter Lily Plant in the house too!
When it comes to merchandising the store, I can't help but bring in giftware that makes me happy and this year is no exception. I especially loved these little chick salt and pepper shakers that came in this month. No Easter table is complete without them.
 Below is a cute egg platter, imagine deviled Easter Eggs displayed with the little chicks face peeking out!
 The Bunny Tea Pots are so cute. I love the little tulip on his back. We also have Easter Pens that are cute for the Grandkids and shelf signs. They would be perfect for the fireplace mantle.
 This month we also received in a shipment of bird houses like this one. They make a great gift also plus who wouldn't want this sweet bunny rabbit holding a flower?
In addition to the new gifts we have some gorgeous floral designs for the table such as this low and long centerpiece with candles. 
If you don't need a long centerpiece our Burlap Country Roads Arrangement would make a pretty centerpiece or would be perfect for a Kitchen Island or Coffee Table. 
If you don't want to send an Easter Lily, sending our Violets and Butterfly Basket would be an amazing choice.

It's amazing what you can do with 12 carnations and a little bit of creativity. Our Floral Designer Rocio loves making puppy arrangements so here she shares her tips with you! Here's what you will need ~ 12 full size carnations, floral glue, floral tape, a floral container, 1/3 of a block of floral foam and some assorted greenery.  First take your wet floral foam and tape it securely into your floral container.  Slowly start adding the 12 carnations starting with the top to form the head, the ears, the face and the 2 front legs.   Keep going, adding carnations but only using 12 total!  Now he has his 2 front legs, sitting over the edge of the container.  Using the floral glue, add the eyes and the nose. Never heard of a Grave Blanket? Don't worry, your probably aren't alone. Here in the north east is customary to have a lovely "blanket" made from ever greens and winter accents to be placed on the grave of a loved one.  It's just a nice remembrance during the holiday season to make the graveside look a bit more decorated and festive.  According to Ask.com   "A  Grave blankets are a type of flower design that is used to decorate graves.
