Themed Parties are Back

Did they ever really go away? Special events such as mitzvahs, showers, birthday parties and even weddings are a great time to show off your fun side! Having a theme for your party doesn't have to be hokey or corny. Look at this fun Bat Mitzvah that we worked on. Working closely with Ariana's mom, we helped not only set the theme but coordinate the details for a look that, although festive, had a sophisticated feel. Aqua and lime colored balloons spiraling along side centerpieces created by the client, each table was named a different candy and related back to the seating arrangements for each guest. Who doesn't want to see "You are seated at the Skittles Table"!

Looking for a theme idea? How about a wine theme? Use corks as place card holders or fill tall glass vases with them. Take elegant looking wine bottle and pour dripped wax and add a single tapered candle. Tuscan looking floral arrangements in earthy ceramic pots with twirls of brown vines and fresh dangling grapes. How about naming each table a different wine region or famous winery? Give out favors of wine bottle openers, wine glass charms or tiny boxes of chocolates designed to be paired with wine. Make the event a "wine tasting" with food paired off with special wine at each station. Have soft drinks served with floating green and red grapes. As you can see, the ideas are limitless!

It's amazing what you can do with 12 carnations and a little bit of creativity. Our Floral Designer Rocio loves making puppy arrangements so here she shares her tips with you! Here's what you will need ~ 12 full size carnations, floral glue, floral tape, a floral container, 1/3 of a block of floral foam and some assorted greenery.  First take your wet floral foam and tape it securely into your floral container.  Slowly start adding the 12 carnations starting with the top to form the head, the ears, the face and the 2 front legs.   Keep going, adding carnations but only using 12 total!  Now he has his 2 front legs, sitting over the edge of the container.  Using the floral glue, add the eyes and the nose.
